I WAS A CUSTOMER WITH RENT A CENTER FOR A PRETTY GOOD WHILE I LIVED IN ARIZONA AT THE TIME I STARTED MY AGREEMENT WITH THEM I THEN INFORMED THEM THAT I WOULD BE MOVING TO CALIFORNIA AND THAT I HAD ALREADY PAID ABOUT 6 MONTHS ON A BIG SCREEN WALL UNIT AND ABOUT 2 MONTHS ON A 57 INCH ZENITH HDTV.

WHEN I SPOKE TO THE MANAGER ABOUT THE MOVE I TOLD HIM TO COME AND GET THE MERCH BEFORE I LEFT. HE THEN TOLD ME THAT IF I WANTED TO KEEP PAYING ON THE MERCH TO TAKE IT WITH ME AND CONTACT THE NEAREST RAC STORE TO ME SO THAT HE COULD TRANSFER THE MERCH. WELL I DID THAT AFTER A COUPLE OF WEEKS NEEDLESS TO SAY I GOT BEHIND ON SOME BILLS AFTER ALL MOVING FROM ONE STATE TO ANOTHER IS EXPENSIVE.

I THEN CONTACTED THAT STORE AND EXPLAINED THE SITUATION TO THEM AND ASKED THEM TO COME AND PICK UP THE MERCH I TOLD THEM THAT I WOULD BE GOING BACK TO ARIZONA TO HELP MY COMPANY FINISH THE CLOSING OF MY STORE IN TWO DAYS. THE DAY I CONTACTED THEM WAS A FRIDAY ABOUT 11 IN THE MORNING THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO FIT ME IN ON THAT DAY NOR THE SATURDAY TO FOLLOW BUT THAT THEY WOULD GIVE ME A WEEK OF FREE TIME UNTIL I RETURNED FROM ARIZONA THEN THEY WOULD THEN PICK UP THE MERCH.

WELL THEY SHOWED UP TOOK THE MERCH NOW THAT WAS FIVE MONTHS AGO. I AM DOING BETTER NOW FINANCIALLY AND READY TO TAKE BACK MY MERCHANDISE THEY REFUSE TO GIVE IT BACK TO ME STATING THAT I RETURNED IT AFTER FREE TIME AND THAT I AM A HIGH RISK ACCOUNT TO LEAVE WITH THERE MERCH I MEAN AFTER ALL IF YOU WERE BEHIND IN YOUR BILLS AND A COMPANY OFFERED YOU FREE TIME WOULDNT YOU TAKE THE TIME.

WELL I HAVE CONTACTED THERE CUSTOMER SERVICE #. THAT # IS A JOKE. THEY SENT ME A 30 MINUTE PHONE CARD SAYING THAT EVERYTHING HAS BEEN RESOLVED. WELL NEEDLESS TO SAY IT HASNT. I HAVE GIVEN THEM ONE MORE OPPORTUNITY TO REINSTATE MY ACCOUNT WITH THEIR SO CALLED LIFETIME REINSTATE OF ACCOUNTS THAT IS A BUNCH OF BULL????

THEY JUST TAKE MONEY FROM PEOPLE AND TURN AROUND AND SELL THAT PERSONS MERCH TO MAKE ANOTHER PROFIT AND CONTINUE THE CYCLE. WELL RIGHT NOW I HAVE CONTACTED SOME KIND OF DISTRICT MANAGER WE WILL SEE IF HE WILL HELP ME. I WILL KEEP THIS SITE POSTED.

 i rented a tv from them a few yrs ago, my company missed up my paycheck so i called them and asked them to pick up there tv and hold it for 2 weeks till i got my check fixed they agreed i went in to get my tv in 1 week not even the full 2 they have told me they would hold it, they had rented it out that morning to someone else so i asked for another tv of the same type, brand and condition they said yes not a problem but because it wasnt the exact tv they would not honor the life time reinstatement in other words the 11 months i paid for it (only had 3 payments left) was gone i had to start over. so much for truth and honosty they have neither...

Would you rent to own a wall unit AND an HDTV from RENT-A-CENTER?! You would be better off buying a 25" TV from somewhere else, then saving up money to outright BUY the TV you want. You were only 6 months into the wall unit and 2 months into the HDTV; I am guessing you had a quite a LONG time to go to pay either one off. You should have just given them back when you moved, it would have solved this whole problem.

As you can tell the inside informantion u received in the rebuttle is brain washed by rent a center. i also am an ex employee. they handled your situation incorrectly as usual. you would not have got your same merchandise back but they should have explanined what life-time reinstatements mean when you returned the merchandise. like ive said you get brained washed and everything is about the bottom line with this comapany. there are many things they could have done for you. your best advise from me would be not to rent from them you could save enough money in 2 months and buy new merchadise somewhere else and not have to put up with the bs from employees who have been taught to get the money or merchadise one way or the other good luck to you

i understand your concern about the customer service call, but why bash the reinstatement did you really expect them to keep the tv and bigscreen wall in the store until you decided to come back? they will find one of same age and condition as yours. but all you did was state it was b.s. without explanation. pointless.
