Hello readers,
I am happy this website has issued a NEW rebuttal option and would love to explain the truth regarding this gentleman's claims
It is true, that we require a security deposit authorization form for most bookings. Some bookings require the cash to be deducted first, then refunded at the end of the stay. Most, we just take a form in case of damage. We would not deduct any money what so ever, unless we had solid proof, receipts and further information from our very trusted agents (who of which, we have been working with for nearly eight years now!). It is very rare we have to make a deduction however when we do, 99% of people are honest and good
For this particular client, unfortunately, this has not been the case and it's clear that the client aimed to damage us and our long standing, great reputation
All of our clients agree to our terms and conditions before we take any rental money/book them in. Feel free to have a read of our very clear terms and conditions on our website
When our agent arrived to hand over keys to the clients, she saw that the maximum occupancy for the property had been ignored, and an extra person was in the party (without permission or sleeping arrangements). Normally, our agents will evict if the maximum occupancy is exceeded, as per our terms and conditions. The client had confirmed with our local agent that the 5th person was to sleep on the sofa, regardless of whether there was enough linen/towels for them, claiming it was "hot enough without". Instead of evicting the clients, the agency charged the clients for the 5th person.
Some apartments will allow an extra person, at an extra charge - this must be agreed when making the booking. All agents and owners do their best to prevent clients from sleeping on sofas, due to wear and tear. The agency had to have the sofa stripped and cleaned before the next guests arrived, which incurred an extra fee
We have to stand by our agents, who very rarely make deductions however in this case, rather than eviction - the client was charged
We hope this report has not damaged your faith in us as a company, as I can assure you RentIn Nerja has been running for almost eight years, and this is the ONLY complaint about us - and I can confirm, the truth has been twisted in Mr Mokkedem's report
I have been personally working with RentIn Nerja for almost five years, we are a small, family launched business looking to help people find the perfect Nerja accommodation! Although we welcome constructive critisism and genuine complaints, we must be true to all and correct any misleading rumours
All the best!
