I, too, answered a Res-Com ad in my local paper for inspectors. It sounded interesting because the Res-Com representative on the phone told me that all I would have to do is order three training CDs for $290, study the course material, and pass three exams to become an interior mold inspector with them. The rep said that it should take only two or three weeks to learn the material and pass the exams. She also said that Res-Com guarantees employment with them once you pass the exams.

So, I ordered the training CDs and charged the $290 to my credit card. About an hour later, I thought to myself, maybe I should do a little due diligence on Res-Com. I then got on the Internet and looked for Res-Com at the Better Business Bureau site and at scam reporting sites such as ripoffreport.com.

At the BBB site, I read a very negative report. Here at ripoffreport.com, I read the threads about Res-Com that already exist.

Right away, I got on the phone to Res-Com to told them that I changed my mind and that I wanted a refund. They told me to refuse delivery of the training CDs when UPS brings them to my door, and that Res-Com would IMMEDIATELY put through a credit for the $290 to my credit card when they receive the returned CDs.

UPS came to my door with the CDs the next day. I told the driver to return the package to the shipper. The driver had me write "refused" on the box and he took it away, unopened.

I then called Res-Com to inform them that the CDs were on the way back to Res-Com and to refund my credit card.

That was nearly two weeks ago, and still no refund to my credit card.

I have called Res-Com's account services and returns department repeatedly. All I ever get is voice mail. I leave voice mail messages. Nobody returns my calls. Their voice mail message says to e-mail their account services department for faster service. I have e-mailed their account services department twice. Nobody has replied to my e-mails, either.

Finally, I filed a formal billing dispute with my credit card company. The credit card company said that I must provide them with a return receipt or some proof that I returned the merchandise. Well, guess what? UPS does not issue a return receipt when you refuse delivery of a shipment. UPS told me that in order for them follow-up and trace the shipment, I must give them the UPS tracking number, which I didn't have because Res-Com never gave it to me. And how can I get it from Res-Com if Res-Com never returns phone calls and e-mails?

Something is very wrong with this picture. It's called AVOIDANCE and getting the RUNAROUND!

Any suggestions as to what I can do at this point so that in the end, I am not ripped off for $290 by Res-Com?
