After reading the orignal poster's comments I researched records on both Resolve and their Director Dr Abrams PhD. It's alarming the original poster's comments mentioned a concern over fraud and dishonesty from the company. Dr Abrams records available though the state of NJ actually include a suspension for engaging in "numerous forms of deceptive and dishonest conduct including fraudulent billing for professional medical and psychological services". For which she had her license suspended for over two months. So the person Resolve had answer their ripoff report accusation of engaging in fradualent and dishonest practices has actually had her license suspended for the same conduct. If that's the best person Resolve could come with to answer their ripoff report makes you wonder if the original poster might be onto something.

I went to Scotch Plains high and I remember that teacher Lynette. She used to tell a story over and over about having her room mate committed to a mental hospital. She would get all happy and smiley when she told that story. It was weird, man. She acted like she had won the lottery or something over putting her friend in a crazy house. I used to think she's power mad.
It gave me the creeps.

This is such a strange complaint that I wonder if the writer knows what Resolve actually is. I have been executive director of Resolve for eleven years, and I don’t remember any board member named Lynette. Also, it is true that we used to do work at the Scotch Plains-Fanwood high school, but that was six years ago.
We very rarely refer to hospitals, unless there is a clear risk of suicide. (And no, we haven’t been offered any kickbacks, ever.) We do, however, get referrals FROM hospitals, as part of their discharge planning. Almost in every such case, the client referred has very limited ability to pay for aftercare. We get these referrals because we are known to provide counseling services at lower cost than anyone else in the area!
Resolve is run by a Board of Directors comprised solely of volunteers, who receive no financial compensation whatsoever. The agency can only afford to have me as part-time executive director, and our counselors and staff are paid very modestly. No one looking for financial gain as opposed to wanting to help would choose to work at or be affiliated with Resolve!
We are a nonprofit, tax-exempt agency, under section 501c(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. To maintain this status, we submit to independent audits on an annual basis. Our audits show that our organization is run properly and transparently, and our books are well-kept and in order!
Further, Resolve is licensed by the State of New Jersey. This means that we are audited by the state as well, and we lose our license if we don’t do everything properly. Our license is in good standing!
Our counselors are all masters’ or doctoral level, licensed or on their way towards getting a license. Supervision is provided by two licensed psychologists. Ethics are an important part of our education and training. We use our moral and ethical compass along with our clinical judgment in making treatment decisions for our clients.
Resolve has been serving the counseling and psychoeducational needs of the Scotch Plains, Fanwood and surrounding communities since 1973! We have done so with very limited outside financial support, led by a group of dedicated Board Members who believe in the importance of having an agency such as Resolve in this community. We have a group of Wonderful, Decent, Ethical and Caring Board members and staff, and one and all of us would be happy to speak with anyone who might have concerns about our agency!
Please don’t hesitate to contact us by phone or email, or stop by any day after 12 pm. Our phone number is 908 322-9180, ext 14 for myself, or extension 10 for our office manager, Cheryl Weiss. Our email is [email protected]. Please come and see our newly-installed sign at the corner of Front and Senger! We will give you a tour of the agency, answer any questions, and help if we can.
Sincerely,

Central New Jersey has had other medical scams like this going on. Years ago Fair Oaks Hospital was involved in a scam where they were trying to get siblings of children who were up there into the program for the insurance. It was even exposed on television. UMDNJ hospital which was part of Rutgers campus also was in the middle of another big scam where millions of dollars in fraud was commited. What I don't understand is why everyone hears about these doctor, counselor, and hospital scams so many years after they start, and why the state agencies and law enforcement never bothers to get involved and do anything about it until it is too late to help the people who get all swept up in it. If they are doing this kinda thing to kids then who is looking out for the kids? What do I pay taxes for? My kids to be jeapardised?
