In 2005 I contacted Resorts International Marketing Corporation, "RIMC", regarding the resale of my Festiva Resorts timeshare property in Branson MO. During my phone conversation, I gave the customer service rep my information, including credit card. I was told I would receive a contract in the mail which I needed to fill out and return. In the mean time, I discovered another company for my needs.

When the contract came, I filed the envelope away with my timeshare papers. Several months later, I was going through my timeshare papers and found the envelope from RIMC. I opened it up. I found RIMC charged my credit card $500. Wow...I never returned the contract authorizing the transaction. I still had the original in my possession.

I spent several hours making phone calls to RIMC. I got the run around most of the time. I heard every possible lie that existed. I was fortunate enough to speak with a "supervisor" one day. She told me her name was Nina Velez. Nina eventually agreed to refund my credit card, but not without more lying and poor business practices.

I filed a complaint with the FL BBB. To this date in 2008, I have yet to receive my refund. I have spent more time than what it is worth at this point. RIMC beat around the bush and lied in their response to the BBB. I would challenge them in court, at their cost, any day.

Consumers need to take this complaint seriously. These people are out to get anyone that calls their phone lines.
