I needed monitoring software for my 12-year-old's cell phone. I looked everywhere and couldn't find any for a windows phone. When I found ephonetracker, and the website said they were compatible with a windows phone, I was so happy, I bought it right away.
I tried to install it immediately after I got the email with the activation codes. I wouldn't work. Right away I contacted customer service and found out that it doesn't work on phones past windows 6. Our phone is windows 8. I didn't even realize there would be an issue since there are so few versions of windows phones out there. I assumed their product would handle current phone versions on the market.
I told them I had made a mistake and asked for a refund. They refused, telling me that even though on the header of the website it says compatible with windows phones, if I had clicked on the "device requirement" button, I would have seen that the product wouldn't have worked with my phone. Then, they say, it's their policy not to issue refunds at all.
I wrote them back explaining, again, I had made a mistake. Bottom line is, I purchased a product I can't use. Would they please refund my money since, obviously, I would be unable to use the product. They wrote back that they would refund for a VALID reason, but since my reason wasn't valid, they wouldn't help me.
So, here I am, stuck with a product I can't use at all. And, even though I immediately tried to "return" it, I'm told just because I didn't click on the right button on the website, I'm not allowed a refund.
