Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

My contract agreement ended with Retro Fitness so i decided it was time to switch to a closer and cheaper facility. nothing against retro , I just needed a change. went directly to the location and they said I had to call a number to cancel service.

I called and got a rep on the phone fairly fast named Monica. she was very slow and unable to answer anything I asked, she said she was having trouble pulling up my information even though nothing had changed within 2 years of me being a member at retro. she pulled me on hold or a total of 45 minutes looking for a customer number. when she got the customer number finally ! she said she would have to put me on hold AGAIN to make sure nothing else was needed. she came back and said i had to also email their customer service dept to have the account closed. I asked if i had to give any additional info and she said "uh" alot kept pausing when i suggested a signed letter with the member number.

i figured as much as i could do as possible would be great - I did not want to speak to someone as stupid as monica was again. I signed and dated a letter, made sure to attach it through email and state within the email i wanted to cancel. i got a message back a few days later saying it had to go through mail. I demanded to speak with a supervisor and got the same message back except this time i needed a certified letter sent. I disputed all charges and threatened to call the BBB because the person I spoke with said a simple email would be sufficient. now they are calling me non stop trying to get me to pay up. its not going to happen!

Not sure if you are aware of this, but the terms and conditions are on a computer at the facility you have to scroll through before clicking "agree" if you think im going to sit through pages of typed document with a trainer standing behind me thats ridiculous. I was told by an employee the contract term was a year which I more than exceeded and I had to call a number to cancel which I did. I requested to speak to a supervisor and was provided one giving me the same answer. So smart guy, was that "b*******" for you?? Idiot.

After reading this complaint and so many like it I have to ask Do you really want your problem solved or are you just happy to have something to b***h about?

If I have signed a contract with any company and am wanting to cancel that contract the first thing I would have done was completely read the contract before signing.  This way I am fully informed on what my responsiblities are and what my options are in cancelling etc.

That said should I need to contact a company to get further information that is needed to complete my task ie stop my billing, cancel my contract etc., and I reach a representative for that company who I do not feel is giving me or even knows the answer to my question I am hanging up and calling again.  If I am still not satisfied with the answer I will ask for my call to be escalated up the chain of command and if I have any doubts at all with the final information I ask for them to send it to me in writing.

You cannot just sit on the side lines bitching and moaning poor me if you are not willing to conduct your business as any responsible adult should.

You are ultimately responsible for the decisions you make and blaming others may make you feel better but certainly does nothing for your bank account.

Hi I am in the same situation. They will not accept the terms on the contract to cancel. Please email your problems with ABC Financial to Cindy Cooper at [email protected] she needs to know how many people are being treated this way, NOW please. I have an open case at this time and I have copied her on all corresponence with these people to let her know how many times they change their story. I even sent them all an email showing copies were sent to BBB, gym and ABC and in one email ABC says they never received the email even though she responded to it. So this lets the BBB know how stupid ABC is and how they treat people.
