You know they are closing ALL their stores, right... You may find your local store to reopen as a TV Direct ( I think thats the company who bought them out) I worked there for 8 years at corporate and find them to have been a very good company to work for. If you sent them a letter, did you do it registered. Due yourself a favor, dont deal with the local store anymore, IF, they are still open. Stuart Rose - CEO, is a very good honest man and if you are intitled to be fixed or exchanged, it will happen. He doesn't operate like your post suggests. Im sorry you are having issues. Be patient, Im sure things will work out for you.
