I work for a Home Depot in Phoenix, When we have a customer that has a problem with a water heater, even one that has a large tag that says do not return to the store, we exchange it in the store. Talk to the store manager at your local store, which should be the St Catherines store and I believe the Store managers name is Mike Jensen. Ask to talk to him directly. He should help you. Hope this helps

I work At a home depot in phoenix AZ. When we have a water heater that has problems we have the customer bring it to us and we swap it out if it is anywhere within the warranty period (6-12 years). We help our customers anyway we can even with the big sticker that tells us not to. Ask to talk to the store manager at the St. Catherines Home Depot. Ask them "What would Bernie do"?

If you did not buy the installation from Home Depot, or the extended warranty from Home Depot....SIMPLY put, it is NOT Home Depot's problem. However, if it is within the standard return period plainly printed on your receipt, you CAN return it to Home Depot. All you have to do is say "The darn thing leaks like a sieve." They'd swap you one on the spot. However... If it is not within the standard return period plainly printed on your receipt, it is RHEEM's problem to fix. HOME DEPOT doesn't make the product, HOME DEPOT doesn't warrant the product. In this case it is RHEEM. File your complaint against the correct company, it's only fair!
