RICH JEFFERS CUSTOM HOMES RIPOFF TOOK MY MONEY YORK Pennsylvania
hello, my name is John Merson, I bought a new home in Red Lion, included in my mortage is a fence the cost of the fence was $8557.00, my wife and I signed a contract with rich jeffers custom homes inc "the same person that built our home and our next door neighbors home" and we went to settlement on june 1st 2005, at settlement we paid $8000.00 for the $8557.00 and a serparate check for the $557.00 fence, the contractor "rich jeffers" told us that he will come over during the course of construction of our neighbors house and put up our fence,on 6/10/2005
I called mr jeffers and told him that my bank had put a hold on the $557.00, he told me dont worrie about it, I could pay when he finished the job, our neighbors house was finished arount 8/10/2005 and I still had no fence, on 8/12/2005 I called mr jeffers to see when he would start my job, I was informed that my fence was put on hold because of the $557.00 and he would need the $557.00 up front to order the fence then I was told that we never had contract, I then sent mr jerrfers a letter asking for a full refund minus any bank fee that he may have gotten for the held check, Mr jeffers than told me he would need untill 9/2/2005 to gather up the funds for my refund, on 8/29/2005 I called mr jeffers to verify the status of my refund, and to address the other repaires needed on my house that he built, after recieving no call back from the 29th, I called again on the 30th again I left a message, on 8/31/2005 mr jeffers faxed me a list of contractors that I will have to call myself, finally on 8/31/2005 I spoke to mr jeffers, he then told me he would need time to come up with the money to refund me, what do I do now ??? to get my refund, he has also instructed me that if I call he again that he would press charges aganist me, so what do I do now
