In 1999 Edwin Sandford listed a home for an elderly Seller. The listing was not shown to me and the listing said the house had a well. I first saw the home in 2000. I received a disclosure that said the home had city water. I found a pump in the basement and required more info.

Second disclosure in Feb. 2001 said the home had a well. My home inspector and I were shown a huge well stone under which a 200 foot, 40 year old, sealed well was to exist. The home inspector advised test the water to determine the condition of the well. I purchased the home. In 2002 I was shown another well by my neighbor on my property. The well was shared by him. It was not sealed, illegal, made of a sewer pipe and 70 years old with bugs.

This is a complicated case and complaints have been filed against many of those responsible. The Robert Weidel Company immediately accepted no responsibility for the sales persons' misrepresentation although it was against the laws of New Jersey. It is Buyer Beware in New Jersey. My complaint against the people involved in this took 3 months to be returned to a Real estate Commission that has not authority to make an compensatory decisions. The Attorney General did not investigate it seems.
