Rick's Custom Processing Rick Hall Does not honor his word and do what he says he'll do. Collinsville, Oklahoma
After having a side of beef processed at Rick's, it appeared that we did not receive all of the meat that we should have. After talking to Rick a few different times, he admitted that my take home weight did seem a little low, and told me he would give me another 30-40 lbs of hamburger patties to make up for the shortage. He also told the same story to the rancher that I bought the beef off of. The hamburger patties that I received originally from Rick, were not the weight I requested, and are so thin that you can barely grill them without burning them. Also, the ground beef that we've been cooking so far, has more grease/liquid coming off it than the cheapest ground beef you can buy at a store. I specifically asked for no fat to be added to my ground beef, and Rick says they don't add fat to the ground beef, but we continue to drain lots of something off of this meat. The cattle rancher told me that Rick was going to buy some of the beef that he was bringing in on another cow, and provide me with the additional meat. So I waited till a couple weeks after the rancher brought in his other cows, and started calling Rick's to find out when I could pick up my additional meat, but could not get Rick to call me back. I've since turned Rick's over to the Better Business Bureau, where he claims that he never had any such conversation with me or the rancher who provided the beef. It is my opinion that someone in his shop either stole meat from my family, or mixed up the side of beef that I paid for, and that they then added fat (or something) to my ground beef to try to make up for some of the weight that was taken. They did offer to re-patty the thin patties that I already have, but I wanted to see if he was going to make good on his promises before I took any of my meat back to him, and since then haven't even been able to get a return phone call. I was also told by the rancher that several of his other customers complained of not getting as much meat as they thought they would get. Maybe Rick didn't do it, but it is my opinion that someone in that shop stole from several families, and he has no intention of making it right, even after promising to do so. You've been warned.
