RISE ABOVE DEBT RELIEF, LLC THEY RUINED MY LIFE AND MY FAMILIES AND THE USE COMPANIES TO REPRESENT THEM THAT ARE WORSE THAN THEY ARE!!! Internet
Rise Above Debt Relief promised to help me eliminate my debt and they guaranteed me that it could be done without claiming bankruptcy...well guess what? Rise Above along with their partner in crime CLA (Consumer Law Associates) have ruined our lives and my childrens for a very long time.
When I called them I gave them all my debt companies and asked them if there were any that could not be included because I would pay them separately, and they assured me that they have worked with all of them a hundred times. They did not give me a choice to use them or CLA to handle my credit calls, they just told me that CLA would be representing us. I had several "lawyers" that did NOTHING for us and didn't return my calls. Rise Above told me that they would take care of it and they didn't.
I sent all the money that was asked, on time and every month and instead of the credit collection calls getting better they just got worse by the minute. Months went by and nothing was being done. One company sued us and now I had to pay them triple what I would have given them before and they garnished my husbands pay for the money. Again, I put various calls in to Rise Above and CLA and no one helped me, it was days before I even got a call back.
Their final answer to me was "There is nothing we can do...you now have to claim bankruptcy!!" I was furious and all I requested from them was ALL the money that we paid them up until that point and every fee because instead of helping they ruined us (we were not defaulted on any credit card or loan until we chose Rise Above Debt). Rise Above promised me that they would do everything to get all my money back and I never heard from them again.
Well they are the ones who are losing out now...I have gotten a lawyer (who was nice enough to wave all fees because we dont have the money), called every local and out of state TV and radio station in my area and theirs (Rise Above and CLA) and I have gone to every newpaper as well. I will make their heads spin especially because they promised $25,000 dollars if we did not succeed in their program (which I have in writing!!) and when I questioned it they made up an excuse. Bad move because that is False Advertising!! Another crime added to the list. All they had to do was give me a full refund with no deductions and I would have been happy...that was too easy and now when the stories break they will lose tons of business.

Your contract was not with Rise Above, it was with Consumer Law Associates, but let me help.

If you would like to call me at our home office in Tempe, I'll be happy to look at your account and see what I can do, but this attack and request came as a real surprise, especially since you are a client of the law firm, Consumer Law Associates, and not Rise Above.
Unfortunately, I can find no record of this person in New Jersey, not saying it might not be true, but I handle ALL resolutions here at Rise Above, and I have not spoken with this person or heard about this situation at all.
And again unfortunately, our government has limited your choices of who can do settlement in your state. New Jersey government officials force Rise Above to give up your case to a law firm, and we currently refer "restricted states" to Consumer Law Associates. That is who handles your accounts, and we have little to no say after that. They do an excellent job, but with all the new laws forcing business their way instead of letting great companies like our service you, they are short staffed and they are hiring as fast as they can to handle the load.
So the attack against Rise Above is really not fair, as I know we do an excellent job for all clients that we are allowed to service. And Rise Above did not force you into bankruptcy. Obviously you were overloaded with debt and could not continue, so you needed a plan to get out of debt, and negotiation is a great way to do that, and your counselor went over a detailed budget with you to determine a path to eliminate it. You only have a couple of options, bankruptcy, credit counseling or negotiation. So we tried to save you from bankruptcy by refering you to the law firm, and I'm sorry you had to file anyway.
But before creditors will negotiate, the accounts must go into collections, and the calls can be annoying. There are many ways to diminish the calls, and your customer toolbox has many short videos addressing just that. So I'm not sure you used all the tools given to you to be successful. Most people who don't see success give up long before the program can really work.
If someone makes 6 or 8 payments into a 36 payment plan, and they don't see the immediate results, they often will cancel and demand all fees back even though they didn't hold up their end. there are so many people working on the account such as the counselor, the underwriter, the initial orientation, setting up your bank account, transferring the account to your negotiator, etc.
But please call me and I will certainly forward your info to the right supervisor, but please don't attack us here, as we have not had a chance to help you.
