EDitor's UPDATE: Positive rating and recognition has been given to Rising S Company for its full commitment to quality customer service.
Ripoff Report's discussions with Rising S Company LLC have uncovered an ongoing dedication by the company to total client satisfaction. This means that clients can expect that the company will work towards finding a mutually satisfactory resolution to any concerns. Rising S Company LLC listens carefully to client concerns and sees them as an opportunity to learn from past mistakes and become more efficient as a company in the services offered and the support for those services.
Rising S Company LLC's principal, Mr. Clyde Scott, has informed us that his personal philosophy is that his clients success are the heart of the business. As a successful businessman, Mr. Scott feels it is critical to listen to his clients and respond properly. By always putting his customers first, Mr. Scott hopes to maintain Rising S Company as a successful enterprise both now and for many years to come. Another top executive, General Manager Gary Lynch told us that Mr. Scott's personal business philosophy is based on the premise that "strives to add value in service, understanding that a successful business model is based on client care".
One of the things Ripoff Report learned in the course of its review is that typical customer feedback reads, "Rising S Company LLC truly communicate all aspects of the service in a timely and effective manner. We are very pleased with the responsiveness that the employees show us. They are serious about meeting commitments, and deliver on their promises."
The information provided in this report below is based on comments made by Gary Lynch during an onsite inspection held by a third-party verification company with no biases towards Rising S Company.
Rising S Bunkers is a steel fabrication company based in Murchison, Texas. They specialize in above ground safe room, bomb shelters, and tornado shelters. Their website boasts the following statement, "The Rising S Company is a pacesetter and we set the proverbial 'bar' in the industry with a quality and craftsmanship that is second to none and exceeds all other standards for underground shelters and emergency shelter solutions."
Leads for Rising S Bunkers are primarily obtained through web marketing. Gary Lynch proceeded to explain the sales and services process for interested clients, "generally they will view on our website of the many main models that we have and find one that suits their needs and they will call us and we go over all the options...they can rearrange the floor plans they can make them different configurations. We custom tailor them to each customer's needs. Once that is done we will send them over a contract and they pay a deposit and agree on a time frame and next thing you know we are there putting it in the ground. We offer a turnkey solution….we are the only shelter company in the world that offers turnkey for everything."
CUSTOMER CARE & COMPLAINT RESOLUTION – RISING S COMPANY
Mr. Lynch was asked to describe a situation where a client was not satisfied with the level of service they received. He stated the following, "we try to cover all of our bases in our contract with our exclusions or potential problems that we have no control over. The most common problem we have is water inclusion. When we leave we make sure the site where we put the shelter in we drain water and make sure no water can stand there. It is the customer's responsibility to maintain that. If you hire a landscaper to put sod in your yard it is not his job to come back and cut the grass every month. 99.99% of the time that is what the problem is the client has failed to maintain positive draining away from the shelter and allowing water to pool in it." He additionally explained the escalation process for Rising S Bunkers, "well first thing we do is make sure they are satisfied before we leave and make sure there are no loose ends no stones unturned. At that point, we would leave, and we are ISO 9001 certified so there is a quality control process we have to go through. Their feedback is documented. If something did arise it would get to my attention as the general manager I handle all the warranty stuff and we investigate the best, we can over the phone and in pictures on what is going on. We try to diagnose the issue and tell them hey this is what we think the issue is and if the issue is something that is out of our control or it was something that wasn’t adhered to in the contract there will be charges for the work to come out. If not there is no cost to the customer to repair."
When asked to comment on complaints posted on Ripoff Report's website Mr. Lynch expressed the following, "As usual we made sure the client was satisfied before leaving the site. 3 hours after leaving the site she contacts us and demands $5000 back. We had charged her $5500 to deliver the shelter, dig the hole, and install it. Then she had us do more work on site. She had us build her a driveway and some other work that added up to $9000. She said she didn’t have a check with her so she would have to pay us later when she got back home. She lived in Texas and we were in Wisconsin. 3 hour later she sends a text message demanding that we refund her $5000 or we credit her $5000 because we had brought 2 shelters instead of 1. I informed her that nowhere in her contract did it say we would exclusively deliver and install her shelter alone. I also referred her to the contract that she agreed to the install price regardless of any other terms. She made a few online reports around yelp or someplace else to which we responded. We hadn’t heard from her in a year and a half or 2 years. She contacted us in the fall and said she had water intrusion. It was the normal process I asked her about the water and to send us pictures. She sends us photographs of the dirt around the door and then built up higher than the door after the installation. That is not anything that we do we would never build up the dirt higher than the door. I informed her that if this is the issue that these charges would apply if not if there was some hidden or underlying issue we would take care of it. To which she denied and became belligerent wouldn't let us inspect the shelter until 6 months later. To this date, we have tried to settle this financially and have made every effort possible to deal with her. The only thing she wants is us to leave the shelter in the ground and refund her 100% of the money. She was very malicious and has contacted our competitors and sent them photos of her shelter. She has slandered us to the point we have recently filed a lawsuit against her."

Rising S Company has a website that is full of false advertising, false product and service claims and false warranties. I paid $45,000 up front for them to build my NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) underground bunker, including delivery and installation. The website made it sound so safe and complete ("just add personal belongings". There are so many false claims, I don't know where to begin. First of all, the bunker was installed wrong. Rising S Company installer chose the site, cleared off two feet of grade from the topsoil ( I have an expert report confirming that fact), dug the hole too deep and had to use more concrete to cover it, (which they tried to make me pay for), then they pushed all the excavated dirt to one side and made a "hill" where all the rain water runs over the top door of my underground bunker and the door leaks (also confirmed by an expert).
When I complained, they told me it was my fault for not correcting the bad installation. When I demanded they honor their warranty, they told the BBB (Better business bureau) that their purchase contract voids the warranty, which is insane. The contract has a paragraph written after the signature, that is not included in the contract, which states in part, that the customer is responsible for "maintenance". No definition of maintenance, no written manual or documents, but they defined it themselves to the BBB as the customer is responsible for their bad installation, yet they write on their website "Highest quality engineering coupled with Expert Installation". They claim their installers have "vast knowledge on every aspect of the business" but apparently flunked physics because water runs downhill. They also told the BBB that their doors are "weatherproof" not "waterproof". Excuse me, I believe rain and snow is "weather" last time I checked.
Yes, when snow melts, it goes inside my NBC bunker door that is supposed to keep out Nuclear particles, Biological and Chemical agents, but not water. They also claim their shelters "are coated with rubberized sealant (rated for 150 years) protecting the vessel from corrosion and water leaks. This allows the unit to "self-regulate" the temperature inside the unit; eliminating moisture & corrosion problems that you will inevitably encounter with shipping containers." Did I just hear Rising S state that their coating eliminates moisture & corrosion because it self-regulates the temperature INSIDE the bunker? Yes, I did and that is a bold-face lie. When I first called them and told them my bunker was flooded, they told me it was just "moisture" and its my job to wipe it all up, it could get several feet of moisture inside the bunker. This is part of their "maintenance" I'm supposed to telepathically know even though it contradicts their website statements.
It gets better... here's just a few quotes from their website: 1) referring to my rusted out interior and door "Rising S Bunkers provide a lifetime guarantee on all craftsmanship"; "We design, build, ship and install the units all with in-house personnenel ensuring quality and confidentiality."; " We are the only bunker manufacturer that fabricates our very own blast doors in house." Even though they manufacture the doors, when it leaks, its not a defect, according to them. "All our bunkers and bomb shelters have bullet resistant, fail safe, tamper proof doors ": unless of course, your a drop of rain or a snowflake, then they rust out completely. 2) When you read their "Certifications" page, all you see is certifications for "storm shelters", not NBC bunkers and they state: "We offer the best underground bunkers, storm shelters and safe-rooms on the market...our bomb shelters are the BEST on the market." 3) On their FAQ page here's what they state comes with a standard shelter they write: "bunk matresses, stove, water heater, all bed frames, interior walls/doors/hardware, all plumbing fixtures, sinks water filtrations, toilet, shower, shelving, solar charging system, battery/batteries, TV/DVD player, Surveillance cameras, LED lighting, all electrical, cabinets, sofa and dining table (when equipped), NBC air filtration plus many more items. All you will need once completely installed and ready to go are your personal items and food."
When I asked where my surveillence cameras were, they said it was a misprint, which is still there, and has never been corrected. In that case, the whole website is a misprint. They write that the only way to reinforce shipping containers is to"line it in concrete blocks or in wood...both of which are inferior methods compared to the strength of the heavy steel used in RSC units." However, they encased my underground bunker in concrete. Why? if its so inferior. Doesn't matter, it shifted anyway. 4) Refering to my rusted out NBC filtration system they claim to warranty it for replacement "even if the dog chews it up". Rising S refused to replace my rusted out NBC filtration system. I'm guessing because I don't have a dog.
I don't have the time or energy to go over all their false statements because there's just too many. But they want to warn you about all the very bad bunker and shelter companies out there, so much so, they dedicated an entire page titled "Know the Truth" telling consumers why all their competitors products are "inferior" and they have "bad ideas" and beware of these "fly by nights" so you can trust Rising S company Right? They even publicly declare their company "christian" and state their logo of three crosses on a red hill is for their christian faith. Well, if that's christian, then they give God and Texas a bad name. (((ROR REDACTED)))
