Riverside Auto-Plex-Ford Dealer In Poteau OK. C/o Kevin, Tipper, And The Other Manager Disabled Man Discriminated against for lack of income after they had told him he was approved. Poteau Oklahoma
My father went to Riverside Auto-Plex for a sale to purchase a car. The ad said 59.00 down with approved credit. They told him he was approved.
Then he picked out a car and even drove it all the way to Pocola to show me his daughter. Then he returned to the car lot
to finish the paperwork and after another hour, 3 hours all together that day. They told him he didn't have enough income.
He said fine, but then two days later on Monday March 1,2004 they called his son-in-law on his cellphone at work and told him that the bank had approved it come get the car.
After an hour of getting all the paperwork needed to finish the deal they went down there. When they got there they were told that the car had already been sold before the call had even been made. And that they would try to put him in another car but would need 1000.00 down. My father only draws 900.00 a month SSI.
So when I found out I called back down there to talk to the seller and was treated rude and hung up on. So then I called and asked to speak to the manager over the store (Kevin). He then had another guy call me back. And he tried to smooth things over cause I said I was going to the newspaper about this. Even asked if I thought the seller (Tipper) should be fired for the way he done us. I said as mad as I am, I don't want him fired cause he needs his job like everyone else.
Then I was told they would try to put him in another car but would need 1000.00 down again. I said he only makes 900.00 a month. Then he just blew me off and well next time you come this way stop in and we will give you a tank of gas free. I said that's not the issue why did they even call him back if they had already sold the car and already knew what his income was. They
already knew he couldn't pay that much down.
Then I was told they would call me back. So, I waited 3 hours and called them back to see what happened. I was told they were still working on it but probally wouldn't be able to do anything.
So, I said I was gonna report this and I guess he thought I was just full of hot air. Guess what i'm not!!!!This is just the beginning!
