Rob Clark Ticketmaster and StubHub relationship Arlington, Virginia
Third time in a row that I've tried to buy tickets via Ticketmaster (online AND on the phone), the moment tickets went on sale, I was told no tickets were available. And yet, you can find them on StubHub already. At twice cost or more. Can someone please explain to me how that's possible and legal? Not one ticket could be found, and at any price, all three times. What legal right does a consumer have to make this stop?

StubHub provides a marketplace where sellers can list and sell their tickets and buyers can purchase them. While the whole purpose of the company is to handle the transaction and enforce the user agreement. A seller can choose to sell horrible tickets for a million dollars if they want to. It doesn't mean the tickets will sell. This is all 100% legal, there is nothing illegal for someone to sell their tickets at a price they choose. It all comes down to basic economics, supply and demand. You must also remember there are 2 customers on StubHub the buyer and the seller. StubHub itself never sells tickets, neither does it buy tickets.
