I paid $1000 for a Serta Perfect Sleeper Whittingham and notice the very first night, we sank and both found ourselves in a canyon in the middle. We had to grab the sides and pull ourselves out !. I called the store and they stalled us for days & weeks with stories of how the bed just had to get used to us. By than it was too late to just return it and the problem worsened. They refused to take the bed back and offered us a different brand or another Whittingham for a "$300 service charge". My G/F wound up in the hospital with back pain from sleeping in the sink hole in the middle of the Serta Perfect Sleeper Whittingham.

They did come and look at the bed and measured it without anyone on it, naturally it passed their visual unsprung weight test.

The Customer service agent said "well you picked it" So I guess its my fault after all.

I forgot to include that when I called Rockaway Beddings 800 number about the problem, they refused to let me speak with a manager or tell me their name, title or leave him-her a message, (No Messages Allowed) I was pointedly told to "just write a letter" to customer service about the "CANYON" problem of rolling into the center of the Serta Perfect Sleeper, a brand new bed. Talk about bad customer service on Rockaways Beddings part.

Dear Consumer: Rockaway Bedding goes a step further and offers a One-Time Satisfaction Guarantee. We want our customers to be assured that we not only sell them their mattress but want them to be comfortable with their choice. There are times when a mattress chosen in the store may not be the comfort level they really need. All mattresses have a "break in" period. We ask that you sleep on the mattress for a minmum of fourteen days. This will give you and the mattress a chance to adjust to each other. If after fouteen days you are still not comfortable you may contact our Customer Service Department. They will issue you a store credit for the orginal set purchased less a handling fee depending on the size. Mattresses can also be inspected by an independent company to determine if there is a manufacturing defect. The inspection company does not work for the manufacturer or the retailer. They provide an unbiased report to Serta and Rockaway Bedding on their findings. Rockaway Bedding abides with the report as to whether or not the mattress is defective.
