Rockstar Marketing Inc Magazine sales scam Dallas, Texas
A while back, I had a couple of cute young girls come to my door selling magazines. I was kind of leary about them, but I had my wife and kid there saying they wanted to get a subscription. I fell for it and purchased a few subscriptions. They gave me what looked like real receipts that had actual phone numbers and everything. I even called the number on the receipt to confirm it was a real business. They were closed at the time, but a machine did pick up and identify the business. One of the girls even gave me her cell phone number that I verified was working by calling her.
The receipts said to wait 3-4 months for delivery to begin. 6 months later and still no magazines. When I try to call the phone numbers, they are all disconnected. The fax number does not answer. The web site appears to be broken. I know now that this was a scam, so hopefully someone else will read this and not get scammed to.
