I met Ron Fisher at Ken Porter Auctions in Gardena. We were both bidding on the same truck and struck up a conversation. He claimed to be a buyer for a truck dealer in Bakersfield.  I met him again at General Auction in Buena Park and spoke to him about liquidating some equipment I had for sale, as well as locating another truck for me. We had several meetings, which included visits to other "accounts" he was selling equipment for. He claimed close relationships with the folks he introduced me to. He seemed to know a lot of people with solid businesses and was a regular at both auction houses.  He also was authorized (?) to buy vehicles for at least one company I knew of.

Long story short, he approached me about investing in some specialized auction vehicles that he claimed to have a quick sale for.  I gave him $5000 in cash and had him sign a note to guarantee repayment. He quickly became unavailable by phone, so I went back to the people he had introduced me to in hopes of tracking him down.  They all had similar stories of being conned. None of them knew him well. He lived in an expensive motorhome that he kept alternately in Long Beach or in the High Desert, so he was a moving target. The phone number I had for him, 310 941-5304, has been disconnected.

What I did find out is that he had previously worked for Ken Porter Auctions, but was fired.  He claimed to be from the Redding, Ca. area and supposedly had a Corvette shop there.  He is almost certainly involved in some sort of scam involving cars or trucks.
