I purchased furniture ($8500 worth)from the RoomStore in Waldorf, MD in mid March 2008. I bought the furniture on a Saturday, was told that some items were on order, but that everything would be in stock by that Monday and that everything would be delivered that week. It turned out only some of the items that were purchased were delivered that week. The dining set that I bought still has not been delivered and neither has the living room set.

I keep calling the roomstore in Waldorf and talking to the assistant manager Cardiss Jacobs and everytime I call there it seems, I get a different date as to when to expect the items. Her tone suggests that I am just being a bother and that I'll get the items whenever I get them. I called customer support and the person I spoke to sounded lazy and didn't sound as though they had any desire whatsoever to help resolve these issues. Again, all I got was, you'll get the items when they're in stock.

It's been over a month now. I filed a complaint with the BBB today. They should not be selling furniture that they cannot deliver in a months time. When I called the store last week they told me they expected everything to be in today (April 15th). I took off from work tomorrow (April 16th) expecting I could get everything delivered that day. When I called them today they now say some items will be in tonight, but will not be available for delivery until probably next week. They still do not have an ETA for my living room set.

This is very ridiculous. I was planning on buying additional items from them, but not after this experience. My girlfriend was planning on getting her furniture from them, but not after this. I just moved into a new house a month ago (around the same time I bought this furniture) and I still do not have furniture.

I talked to the manager of the customer service department and she said there was nothing she could do. I emailed through the website which apparently just goes to customer service and I got an email back saying the same old same old - I'll get it when it's in stock. What kind of business is this???

At this point I expect to get the items that have not yet been delivered at a very discounted price. I have spent hours upon hours talking to the sales people, the "assistant managers", and the so called customer service department and have gotten no where.
