Rooter Plus Rooter plus is deceptive Cumming Georgia
I am writing this so that people are aware of Rooter Plus's deceiving tactics and don’t get ripped off by Rooter Plus in Cumming Ga.
I called them yesterday because there seemed a problem when we flushed the toilet. On the phone the sales rep. said for a 1000 cu. ft tank cleaning they will charge 175 and for a 1500 ft they will charge 275. Ours is 1500 cu. Ft
They came in the morning around 7:45 AM and dug the yard opened the tank and started cleaning and said it will cost $375 and at that time also said we have a broken pipe which needs to be fixed which will cost $ 2600 dollars. The reason for $2600 is because we have the tank which is 30 ft (normally it is 10 ft) away from the house. We said we cannot do it because of the cost and decided to just clean the tank and will deal with fixing it later. At the same time we called around and the approx. cost to fix ranged from 800 to 1500 if they have to dig 30 ft to fix it.
When the cleaning was complete the guy offered to fix it for $1800 including the cleaning. As a customer we don’t know the seriousness or what it would take to get it fixed. So we rely on the repairman’s advice. We thought $ 1800 was high but since the person is already here, we thought of getting it done.
To my amazement he dug 4 ft. found the broken pipe and replaced the pipe and said everything is fixed. The whole process took 2 hours and now he wants $1800. I and my husband argued with the repairman that it should not cost this much for 2 hr work which includes cleaning, digging and replacing the pipe. He was rude and said…”You don’t clean other people’s s***, I do”. He also said he is doing this since 1986 and has lots of experience. At any cost $ 900 dollar per hour is exorbitant to the least.
We called the rooter plus office asked for consideration and he did not budge either. He was rude as well. DONT Get Ripped off. What I believed to be a reliable and first class company really surprised me. I felt sure they would adjust the bill once the location was determined at 4 feet instead of 30 feet originally estimated. Finally we paid $ 1800 and the guy left. Definitely not a reliable company.
I called several others after the work is done was quoted $500-700 for the same job. This is an example for all the folks who are looking for a reliable septic tank service company. I am pretty sure it is not Rooter Plus.
