Paid for a membership with my credit card for each of my sons. Theese funds are directly withdrawn from my checking account. Someone stole the account information along with my credit card information.

The kids could no longer log onto the account we set up and was paying for, becacuse whoever stole it changed the passwords.

When we tried to cancell the accounts, the web site said the only way we can cancell the account is by requesting the cancellation by email only.

We have done this, and for the last two months, I have been paying for the person who stole the accounts.

Ive tried to cancell the payments through my credit card provider, but they do not have a telephone number or address for this company either, and cannot do anything.

Ive tried to call the Better Business Breau but the only information I get is for New York State. The billing shows up as WP-Runescape-By-Jagex, and the Location is William Morri, I know this would be the city and that it has been cut off due to lack of room, and doesnt show a state.

I have no idea what to do here or how to stop the payments.

Write a review about Jagex to Prevent other people from getting scammed by them, at www.yelp.com  That should help other people from not getting scammed, and to let them know that Jagex is a bad company.

Use account recovery

To recover the accounts you should use the account recovery section of the Runscape website. Before doing so though you should scan your Pc and clean all keyloggers spyware, malware and trojans off your computer. Your bank or Credit card company should not need any additional information than they already have to stop charges until such time as you recover the account. You can also dispute the charges made while the accounts were "hacked". If they say they can't stop those charges then they are lying to you. If they can't stop the charges then they can't accept the charges in the first place, that is the law. There is a code the company is assigned when they become authorized to take Credit card payments. Each time they submit a charge to your card that code is used. If you dispute a charge or wish to stop future charges your Credit card company only needs to look up that code and block it to stop the charges.

They say they cannot stop this because they do not have any information on runescape. The credit card company doesnt have an address or phone number for them. I asked them if they could block them from taking money from my account, and they said they could not do that. They did however, send me paperwork to dispute the charges, dont know what good that will do me. Account hacking is horriable on this site, they gain access to your credit card info as well as the passwords and logon names to steal your account. Also, they do have racey advertisements, and I have seen what appears to be "children" asking for "boyfriends" or "girlfriends", giving out thier home address and phone numbers, and asking for lewed acts as well. This site isnt properly monitored. You can get kicked off for doing something insignificant, but not kicked off for asking someone to perform a lewed act. Ive gotten up at 3 or 4 am, and theese children are still playing. parents, stop letting you children use this site!

And stop payments to Jagex. I have several children that have used the Runescape site, and I've heard numerous complaints about account hacking. Shut it down at the source, and purchase a hardcopy game that the kids will be able to use forever for one of your home systems. There are a lot of good games out there that don't come with the requirement of a $60 yearly subscription......
