I purchased a 2003 Mercedes Benz SL55 on ebay from seller Alaskaruss59 (real name is Russ Palmateer). I had MANY email, text and phone conversations prior to purchasing the car from seller and I asked numerous questions about the car's condition, any damage or mechanical issues, and if it needed any repairs or work done. Seller Russ Palmateer lied about every aspect of the car. This scammer uploaded photos from 2 years ago when he bought the car. The condition was NOTHING like the deceptive photos he used. I had the car shipped from Petersburg Alaska to Tarzana, Ca and when it arrived I nearly fainted. The car arrived with dents all over the car, wheels were rusted and corroded, the interior was completely trashed. The trim was damaged everywhere. The rear tires were completely bald. The check engine light was on and the car barely ran. I contacted Russ immediately via text and phone and he not only ignored my calls and messages but he blocked me from calling or texting.
I took the car to 2 different mechanics and both told me the car had rust throughout the car and needed THOUSANDS of dollars in repairs to get it road worthy. This car is a total piece of sh*t and I cannot understand how someone could lie and scam someone so easily and have absolutely no remorse. I cannot even sleep at night when I think of how badly I was defrauded by this a-hole. I turned to ebay and they could not help due to the age of the car being past their coverage limit. I would have NEVER purchased this car had I known that I would not be covered. Ebay is a bad place to buy an older car.
Russ Palmateer is the true meaning of SCAMMER. If you read this and are thinking of doing any type of business with this guy then you have been warned and you are only looking to be cheated as well. He needs to be stopped. I am stuck with a car that has so many issues that I cannot even afford to keep trying to fix them all.
Petersburg Alaska....You have been warned. This guy is a horrible person and a total crook. I hope someone reads this and spreads the word about him. He is BAD NEWS!!
