Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I am sure that I am not the only one who has applied to a posting that is on Craigslist.com for a position with a company called Rustox. I got an email back sending me to a survey page that reads as follows.....

Thank you for your interest and taking the time to reply to our current open position at Rustox.Due to the current economic climate in our country and local markets, we have received many more resumes for these positions than at any time in our company history. The high number of applicants has allowed us the benefit of immediately being able to fill 2 of our 4 open positions. It appears you already fit our basic requirements and I would like to bring you in for an interview.

Due to the recession, Rustox has been cutting costs where we can in order to remain competitive in our marketplace and continue to successfully serve our clients. All job applicants moving to the 1st stage of the interview process are required to complete one of our client's basic marketing forms. Your experience with this marketing form will be discussed during your interview to help us gauge its effectiveness. Click on the link below to view one of our client's websites and take a minute to securely fill in your basic information there. When you click on the link below one of our preselected client websites will open in your web browser with a form for you to complete. You may be required to enter your email for a Retail marketing offer, enter your basic information, or click a free credit report button which asks for further details.

Unfortunately many of us are falling victim to this due to the fact that it is a "blind ad" (compnay listing hidden from applicant view). The only valid way to strike back at this is to deluge the advertiser by forwarding this bogus e-mail. Hopefully if enough of these come pouring into Victorias Secret or Cash4gold they will get the hint. (those are the two I have gotten hit with so far) I have also began sending everything in complaint form to Craiglist although they will hide behind disclaimers and basically call it a "buyer beware" situation. I am now being very cautious about responding to any ad that does not list the hiring organization right up front.

I received the exact same response to an ad for employment in North Carolina. I thought I was applying to a "Bubbly Event Planner" position and got the exact same response. ************* Thank you for your interest and taking the time to reply to our current open positions at Rustox. As a result of the poor economic climate, we have received many more resumes for these positions than at any time in our company history. Due to the high number of applicants, we have immediately been able to fill 2 of our 4 open positions. It appears you already fit our basic requirements and I would love to bring you in for an interview to fill one of our last remaining spots. The recession has forced Rustox to cut costs wherever it can in order to remain competitive in the marketplace and continue to successfully serve our clients. All of our job applicants are required to complete one of our client marketing forms in order to move forward in the interview process. You will simply need to go to our client's websites and take a couple of minutes to securely fill in your basic information there. When you click on the link below one of our preselected client websites will open with a form for you to complete. IMPORTANT: After completing the 1st or 3rd page of the form, you will be automatically taken to the resume upload page. Upload your resume even if you've already sent it to us. Due to a growing threat of malicious viruses, we use an advanced virus detection filter for incoming applicant resumes. Click Here to Begin the 1st Stage of the Application Process http://www.rustox.com/clientsite.html In the event you are not taken to the resume upload page after completing the form, you can upload your resume using the link below: http://www.rustox.com/resumeupload.php I look forward to hearing from you. Here is the email I received which is almost verbatim what happened to Amanda. Thanks Amanda for taking the time to file this report or I may have been "ripped off" too.
