when i called Sabans Rent A Car to inquire about a car for the week because the brakes went out on my personal vehiclethe young lady i spole with on the phone told me that the rate for the vehicle would be 139.00 for the week a chevrolet lumina,or a Chevrolet Cavaleir with 1000 miles allowed for the weekwhen i inquired as to their acceptance of debit cards the lady told me it would be 169 total plus of course the taxes and fees there would be no other charges on my card,

When i went to their office a gentleman "claimed to be the manager" told me it would be $169. for the week "the $139 i was quoted was for a different car" 1000 miles allowed,the increase in price wasnt really an issue at the time,so i accepted the $ 169 for the week rate i gave the information and my insurance carrier at which time the man informed me that my full coverage insurance through Infinity Insurance Company does not cover a rental car and that it would be an additional 8.95 a day for the rental,when i asked how much more he would be

authorizing on my account he dont me "i authorized your card for $450. so dont worry about it" at this point i was furious having been misled twice the first time being about the rate for the week and now about the charges being "authorized" on my card.

But what could i do they have already almost wiped out my account balance and it would take 10

days for it to credit back to my account,if they even bothered to credit it back to my card at all and this was quickly becoming a oncren.since i was already out of the money and i really did have to have a car with mine being out of comission i went ahead and took the car and left.

picked up my daughter and and granddaughter and we went north to flaggstaff and over to the grand canyon

driving back we stopped at the hotel for the night,when the valet noted the back drivers side door didn't

appear to be closed all the way he opened it to closed it and the lick on the door jammed, we ended up

having to tie that door shut and drive home with a child in the car with a door that would not close, needless

to say she was in the front with us but still very dangerous.

Coming down the hills from flagstaff the brakes started malfunctioning requiring about 8 car lengths to get

it to stop fully from 65 mph, this was suposedly, since they were closed on sunday when we were returning

home there was none to contact to have the car fixed and we had to drive it back to phoenix in that condition

When i called to advise them that the vehicle was not safe to drive and i didn't feel safe with another car

from them and i would like some kind of refund for hte problems over the weekend the man told me to let

him send someone to pick up the vehicle and that he would see what he could do about a refund of my

money for the weekend.

i took the pictures of the vehicle including the half empty master cylinder on the brake system and the back door that was tied shut to protect myself and had the vehicle checked at midas on black canyon hgwy 1 mile from home who told me the master cylinder on the vehicle was bad then took the car back home and had them come and get the car.when i called inquiring about if the man driving the car back made it ok because the brakes were out and they didnt send a wrecker for it the man "manager" became verbally abusive and informed me that i really needed to " know what the hell i 'm talking about", that there was nothing wrong with the brakes on that car and i wouldnt be getting any refund because i had 645 miles on the car... how else was i supposed to get home?

Wanting this to just be over with i asked what the charges were going to be he told me that it would be 169-

for the week and the insurance and fees for a total of $252.49, after all this i called the Better Business Bureau and was told by the lady there that there are numerous consumer reports against "Sabans Rent A Car" and that the company has advised the BBB that they will not respond. to any complaints lodged against them by consumers.

Unfortunately i did not think to check this company out in advance and am now experiencing the verbal

abuse and being charged more that they were authorized to charge. this is unacceptable, fortunately the

verbal abuse was on the phone, and i did not go into the shop with my granddaughter and have them behave

that way in front of her.

I went to a friend who works at the attorney gennerals office here and he gave me this link i am sharing with you all to report this company.
