This company advertises in newspapers for office manager trainees and asks for a $60 background check/ registration fee. Then they set up a training class and ask for you to pay $95 for a kit fee which is refunded upon becoming a manager. The problem is. They never tell you what exactly you are doing until after you sign their contract. You are a salesman/independent contractor. You are not paid hourly like described in the ad or otherwise. Everything you do is on commission basis only.

The main problem with the company is what they are selling is not being done so legally. They sell fire extinguishers, fire retardant, fire alarms/smoke detectors.

These items cannot be sold without proper licensing obtained from the Louisiana State Fire Marshall.

This company was issued a CEASE AND DESIST ORDER ON AUG 2, 2001 stating that a license is required to sell, install, service and hold ones self or company out to perform such work on fire alarms, smoke detectors and or other electronic protective devices in one and two family dwellings. ANY AND ALL SALES SHALL CEASE AND DESIST UNTIL SUCH TIME AS A VALID LICENSE IS OBTAINED FROM THE LOUISIANA STATE FIRE MARSHALL.

THERE IS NO LICENSE ON FILE WITH THE LOUISIANA STATE FIRE MARSHALL FOR THE COMPANY SAFETY PRO, INC. AS OF 4-21-03.

This company is in negative standing with the Better Business Bureau for having an unsatisfactory business performance record based on deceptive advertising practices and failure to eliminate the cause of their complaints.

I did go to one of the local offices for a training meeting and I brought in my "homework" on this company and stated I wanted a refund for $155.00. The gentleman told me he would give me a full refund which I will receive in one week from the company. I wanted to report this company so that no harm would come of any one looking for the same opportunity only to be told you cannot do it without a license and that this company is not complying with "certain regulations" They have local and BBB licenses but not the most important one. If you perform such services as this company does w/o proper licensing you could possibly face fines and possible jail sentence.

This company provides services such as "free in home safety inspections" and selling fire products. It sounds like a great opportunity and sure who would not want to help save lives. I would like to do it legally however!! Without having to pay upfront for my reg. fee, Kit and once you do become a manager...you are FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR RENTAL SPACE IN YOUR OWN OFFICE NOT THE COMPANY!! THEY NEVER TELL YOU THAT IN INTERVIEW OR TRAINING EITHER!!

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, its paid for!
