Salin Bank Holding deposits over to charge overdraft fees Logansport , Indiana
Salin bank said all electronic transactions come in at midnight to their system and that debts or money going out is charged to THE PRIOR DAY, and the deposits are charged to the FOLLOWING day to be credited manually. That way, at the end off the business day you are overdrawn( fees assessed), and like so many other banks, they chose to pay what first...... Even going back to "bounce" items already paid to get even more fees!
I have been charged 8 overdrafts in the last two weeks due to this " policy". Sometimes the overdraft charge was assessed for as little as 27 cent overdraft!! Two of the times I was told in person at the bank that my deposits were in time and no fee would be charged, but they were and when complained of, was told that it was to late to correct the problem.
I'm sure that if I had a lot of money in their bank I would be treated differently, but I , like so many people now days, are struggling to get by. And getting ripped off in this way makes life so much harder tougher.
