I am sorry about what you went through. I used to be an employee of SLM and we will never remove an unemployment deferment. We may not process it if all the paperwork is not recieved but we NEVER remove them. Besides that you could have went online to apply for the unemployment deferment. You did not have to wait for it to be emailed to you. And also, SLM does NOT garnish wages. When it gets to that point your loan has defaulted and the guaranotor will garnish your wages and before they EVER begin to garnish wages they try to contact you for at least a year to try to get a payment. So, I am REALLY sorry for what happened to you but you are not telling the whole story....
