Fair Housing for Persons with Disabilities Title III of the ADA prohibits discrimination against persons with disabilities or those who are affiliated with persons with disabilities in any privately owned "public accommodations,” including homeless/emergency shelters. On May 18, 2021 I Crystal Lax was referral to We hope Shelter and Samaritans house for the homeless. I had a stroke on May 13, 2021. Placed in the ICU. Once release were in need of emergency shelter due to two strokes. Rapid heart beat STP. Medical records will back up all my medical condition.
I use a walker for my arthritis. I have a lot health problems being out on the streets. On May 17, 2021 211 referral me to a shelter. The woman said. She would place me on the housing list. When she called back. The woman told me she unfortunately. She couldn't help us. Today on May 18, 2021. I gather up all my last little money I had to get on the bus. Walk all the way down to the Samaritans house with my walker and bags. The shelter didn't look full.
The woman immediately said as if she knew to deny me of shelter. We can't accommodate you with a smirk as if its a game for these Federal funded and community contribution to deny a person with illness and disabilities services. As if I maliciously being kept from my right to shelter. My constitution right to life. What exactly are these organization doing with this money? As a black man said. (((REDACTED PER TOS))). Why accommodate me for one night?
