I purchased a 40" Samsung LCD TV from Best Buy on Dec 28th, 2007. Beautiful picture and look. Now after almost two years the TV will no longer turn on....only clicking noises with no picture or sound. I've had a TV technician look at my set and was told that it needed a new ip board to resolve this problem and that it will cost me about $500 to repair. i called Samsung and was told that since it is out of warranty they cannot help me and that i would have to get it repaired on my own.

The issue is that this is a very known issue for this model of LCD TV's and Samsung refuses to own up to their responsibility and correct this issue with their loyal consumers. Follow the link and it will take you to the forum where everyone has been complaining. http://techreport.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=62360&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

Samsung please own up to this problem and take care of you customers.

I purchased the same tv from Amazon in April '07, and have the same problem, the tv will not turn on it just clicks.  After googling the problem and seeing this is an ongoing issue with Samsung tvs I sent them an email about my problem.  Here is there reply;

Dear Karol,
Thank you for contacting Samsung Electronics.
With reference to your e-mail, we understand that you are unable to turn on the TV and getting clicking noise
while turning on.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
It is possible that this issue might be with the surge protector which has gone bad. For testing purpose
disconnect the surge protector and connect the TV directly to the AC output on the wall.
Samsung does not received any complaints related to power issues with this TV model. If the issue persists,
the issue might be with the internal hardware malfunction. In this case your product needs to be examined by
a professional service technician to get it serviced to fix the issue.
You can visit the following Samsung website to create a service request online.

If you require any further information, feel free to contact us.
Thank you,
Samsung Online Support.

I cannot believe they would say there are no issues.  I have emailed them back with a list of links showing them this is a problem, I can't wait to see their response.  You would think a company like Samsung would stand behind their products.

I would urge everyone to think twice before purchasing a Samsung.
