Buyer Beware:

This company called our home to sell this product. I do not know how they found out our student was taking the tests, but they did. First clue...they called us! Buyer beware when this happens. We are on the do-not-call registry, so I am wondering who they bought our info from...I am wondering out loud here if the ACT or SAT organization has sold our children's information to this 'company'?

My wife had them call back as I was out of town on business. We discussed it briefly and we felt if it help[ed our child, then go for it. Second Mistake...we let them appeal to our familial protection instincts! Their agent sold her a legitimate Kaplan product that should be sold for about $10 bucks give or take a few cents for $119.99. Shame on us for not being more diligent. They also get her to pay $49.99/month for 'Online Scholarship Assistance". Shame on us again for being suckers. We did receive the disc, but never received the information about the Online Scholarship Assistance.

I called 'SAT and ACT Prep' and got no where. When I told their agent that I was going to protest the CC charge, she told me the conversation was over. I have been in E-Mail contact with Kaplan (www.kaptest.com) and Topic Entertainment (Kaplan's Authorized manufacturer (www.topics-ent.com). They apparently are aware of this mess, but it is becoming a legal issue.

So, folksmy thoughts here.stay away from this company. Unless I receive a full refund, which I have requested through the proper channels, I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General of my state.

As the old saying from P T Barnum says...'There is a sucker born every minute.'

It looks like we are the suckers this time...but it won't happen again with the SAT and ACT Prep Center in Coppell TX. Stay away from them and buy this legitimate Kaplan product from a legitimate reseller.

Follow Procedures and Know your Software Laws. We dont make the Federal Rules when it pertains to open Seal on Software. SAt and Act Prep Center has a return policy that is explained during the call and we read a mandatory confirmation. These calls are recorded to protect the Consumer as well as our Company. We also send documentation explaining our policy. Everyone receives a policy form, that they must sign and return to us. SPECIALLY when a return Authorization is requested. We take the clients word that they in fact did not open the seal. When we receive the package it goes through quality control. Bare in mind Software seal is by the manufacturer of the cd. If the seal is tampred or open. According to Federal law there are Copyright infringment rights. THIS APPLYS TO ANYONE WHO SELL SOFTWARE. You can go to Frys, Office Depot and walmart purchase software and if that seal is open you cant return it. If it is damaged, you may have it replaced BY THE SOFTWARE COMPANY. We go above and beyond and if we are called and advise the cd is damaged we ask the return it. We will then send a new one. We are here to help stuents go to College, we have changed our POLICY TO THOSE WHO COMMIT FRAUD and make false allegations about us and take it very serious. We have a dispute department as well as Arbitration Department. We respect all of our clients. However, individuals who do not read nor follow protocol think they can slander our name. I am sure this client Filed a fraudulent claim with their credit card Company and lost their claim. Since we enforced and improved our new system, we deal with far more honest individual's. Some Consumers think they can lie and slander. Their only outlet is to file claim here in this site. We are watching and we will respond and Fight back when it pertains to false claims such as these. we are even willing to take the legal route if we have to. Our company has moved to a better State therefore the individual filing this claim is commiting fraud. We challenge the person who filed this claim to file suit as they suggest in their filing. They will find themselves in loosing battle. ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS FOLLOW THE WRITTEN MATERIALS WE PROVIDE. It is very CLEAR.
