Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

As an emerging small business owner that has 3 furniture retail stores in the Midwest, I needed furniture repair technicians, or a company that supplied them.

I called, after getting some names, contacted SAW Enterprises, to enquire. They were more than happy to take my deposit money and a contract for services as needed.

On July 2, 2015, I had my first need. I called SAW and gave them the customers' information.

The company eventually contacted my customer for a simple upholstery repair and a tech arrived 10 days later. Everything that they promised, did not happen: the tech did not fix the problem.

The customer came in to my store livid. I asked what happened and it was worse than I could possibly have expected. The tech, Mike, arrived two hours late, wearing shorts and carrying no tools. He took a few pictures, told the customer he would need to order a part and left. The customer stated the middle aged man was wobbly on his feet and appeared drunk, and before he could look at the furniture, he asked to use the bathroom. After 5 minutes in the customers bathroom, he came out.

The female customer stated that she was on the verge of calling the police in fear for her safety. The tech asked all sorts of personal questions, asking if she had a boyfriend, what her plans were for the weekend.

The customer is now demanding her 8,000$ back because of this; and is threatening me with Better Business Bureau comments. As a small business, I can not afford to refund her money.

I called SAW Enterprises about cancelling my repair contract and getting my deposit back. I spoke with the owner Sean Conlon who stated that our contract is iron clad and if I back out, he will be immediately bringing ME to court. I have contacted my lawyer, and with billable hours, willl cost as much or more to get my money back.

Basically, this company cost me $5000 for one single service call. A service call that was "scary" according to the customer.

I have spoke to some furniture retail colleagues, and they have told me that SAW Enterprises is the industry worst. And there management is just one guy, Sean Conlon, and a few family members. They hire techs with zero experience and do not run background checks, so they basically allow inexperienced parolees into your home with zero supervision.

My furniture colleagues say that SAW's reputation is exactly what I should have expected: dirtballs with a shady manager/owner that will threaten to sue at any interval.

IF you are a furniture retailer, and looking for furniture repair technician companies, do NOT use SAW Enterprises. There is better companies out there that are not borderline criminal.

Sewing and repaired knicks and dents are a large part of the trianing If you can not learn to sew you would not be able to install uphulstered parts.   We have supervisors that are available for any additional training needed. If this ex employee did not learn to do the basics due to lack of

We have a HR department for many years with a HR director who has had 20+ years expericence. This is not a family member nor is anyone in HR related so these comments are false.'

It true this is a family business founded by Mr Conlon who followed in his fathers foot steps.

A president of a company does not work with terminations of employees that is dealt with with the HR department and the supervisors. This does not mean he does not care about his employees.

Mr Conlon has worked extremly hard to employee over 120+ men and women.

Its sad that someone who obviously does not know how difficult it is to grow a business, to spew such hatred.

I was a former employee with no experience in fixing furniture . They said they trained all there guys on the spot. All my training consisted of was fixing scratches an dents and sowing that's it, plus the training was being done by a guy who was on his phone 24/7 and sitting down actually didn't do much to show u what to do. Fast forward a little bit , company started off nice, they had employee appreciation, Christmas party, weekly bonus to boost morale and keep up the good work. Well that all came to an end a year after I worked there. Got none of those things anymore for years. So in that aspect why should any of his employees try to fix or even go the extra mile to fix anything. We just worked to get a paycheck, company didn't care bout us at all why should we bout them,. The company was being run by all family, supervisor were brothers to the owner and human resource was being run by the sister. Talk about a big conflict of interest u had no one to run to because they would always back there family. Anyway back to the work of the job, when it came down to installing parts of a couch they never trained me I had to figure it out hands-on in the times I needed help and cold for help they did not want to come to the house and show me they said figure it out Which eventually I did and I was good at my job but it's a little unprofessional when I'm there at the house longer and the customer realizes I don't really know what I'm doing and I'm there trying to figure it out. It's a little embarrassing on my part to at times. There were service calls where I had to look at patio furniture never worked on it before they never said anything about it I just went there took pictures and left and hope that the customer would get a new one. Most of there training consisted of "figure it out". So this just shows you most of there men well 95% of them only know 40% of the job because 60% they walk in and take pictures and order parts to get in and get out, most of the time they would order the wrong part just so they could go back and reorder it. The boss Sean Conlon pretends to not know what goes on so he don't have to deal with anything bs if he really doesn't know what kind of a boss is he. When people want to quit they don't care we're a dime a dozen they will go hire the bum on the street n "train them". When you want to quit the boss Sean doesn't even question why you wanna quit, as a boss wouldn't you wanna know why the people you pay the people you took time to train wants to all of a sudden quit, maybe it's a problem with your company wouldn't you wanna know what the problems are, maybe you can fix them and make your company better. Your company only runs because of the employees! You make money because of the employees! Show more appreciation and respect and maybe your employees would do a better job servicing company's like this one. I don't blame any tech for not doing crap for them. I can go on forever but I'll leave it at this, this company is shady in so many ways, in ways I have caught them in lies and other employees has as well. There a family so there going to keep everything under the rug. I advise no company to use them.
