Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I have been waiting for the equipment rebate ($50.00) since installing my SBC Yahoo DSL in July, 2005. In Sept., 2005, I stopped waiting, and started calling -- every month and have been told each time that the previous customer service representative didn't take care of it, but THIS TIME, the representative assures me: (oh, yes they actually say it!) THE CHECK IS IN THE MAIL!

Here we are in February, 2006 and no, I have not yet received this rebate. Small though it is, it has become something of a "crusade" for me, wondering if there are others who are experiencing this same thing. My suspicion is that most people don't follow up, and SBC pockets $50.00 a pop. That could add up to quite a bit of money for SBC.

This can't be legal, can it?

Have had the same EXACT experience with sbc dsl except mine started in August of 2005 and a couple of different situations. Since I went with dsl and my phone lines at my store I was suppose to get the $50 check, a $50 visa gift card and a $80 credit on my phone bill after 3 months. It took 4 months to get the $50 gift card. They sent me an EXPIRED rebate form for the gift card. I called 'em up, gave 'em hell and finally got the $50 gift card 4 months after I changed phone lines. This month, after fighting with them over the last 6 months, they finally agreed to credit the $80 to my account. I am still fighting with them over the $50 rebate check. I too have taken to calling them on a weekly basis. The reps said a "supervisor" would call me back which they never did. I said let me talk to a supervisorv now, they say none are available. Back in August the faxed me a proposal with all the promised items; $50 check, $50 gift card and $80 credit after 3 months, so, I GOT IT IN WRITING. sbc,at&t what a buch of crooks. To top it off, they've tried to bill me for substantially MORE then they quoted me on the proposal. Each and every month, I've had to call them and argue them down to what they quoted me. All I can say is it's a good thing I got it in writing and kept a copy, if not I'd be screwed.
