First my ps3 didn't read disc.  Sent it to Sony under warranty (meaning it pooped out within the 1st year)  Now a few days ago got the dreaded ylod (flashing red light ps3 shuts off overheating problems) but now my warranty is long gone and Sony wants an arm a leg for repair and we have to pay for shipping.  It's not even guaranteed to be fixed.

Took extreme care of it, well ventilated, clean open space environment etc.  I never even heard of the ylod problem until I just recently got it myself and researched it extensively over the internet and now many people and electronic shops are offering repair from 40 to 100 plus $ and banking from it.

Manny issues are consistent within the ps3 and if it's a common problem as the representative I spoke to described it, why do we have to put more money into what we paid from 3 to 7 hundred dollars for it.  Sony should support us, as we supported them buying there product in the first place.

Common problem should be a recall issue for people who experience anything that is once again Common.  It's Common sense.  It's really a hard decision as a avid playstation fan from the get go  (ps, ps2, ps3, psp purchaser) to get my ps3 repaired or even buying a new one, knowing that something will happen again soon not of my fault.  Unfortunately, I did not win the lottery and have the money to throw another 300 plus tax for a new system or have around 125 for sony to fix something  that might happen again on the 91st day under a 90 day warranty or possibly another common problem will bring down the system.

Lost my trust in Sony completely, used to be the best in my books but slowly my household is happily becoming more orientated with other than Sony products.   Used to have VAIO pc, now it's dell.  Sony tv, now Samsung, next playstation, now xbox?
