Scheingraber SARL Failure to Pay for Freelance Work Paris, France
Mr. Scheingraber had agreed to pay me $100 for every 8 hours of freelance work I was given. He had given me 6 hours of work, and then had not contacted me for over a month, assuming that if he did not give me anymore work that he would not have to pay me. When he finally did he told me that he had given my assigned work to another journalist and that my services would no longer be required. I then sent him an invoice for $75 to cover the 6 hours of research and writing I had completed, but he sent an e-mail back refusing to pay me, and has blatantly ignored all of my other attempts to contact him since.
He has since published my work on his website without my consent, which is illegal because the copyright of my writing transfers upon having received payment. It has been over 2 weeks since I last sent the invoice reminder to him and I still haven't heard anything back from him, despite threatening to report him to the Better Business Bureau (which I will).
