I just recently found ripoff.com which explains why this happened over four years ago and I am just now posting this. I also wanted to post this because I know I am not the only one who was victimized by this company and I would be more than happy to testify for anyone who has experienced things similar to what I experienced.
I was an Underwriter for Advantage Specialty back in 2007. Within weeks of beginning my new position, the co-owner of the company (Thomas M. Basil, Jr) began harassing me nonstop and it didn't end until I was finally laid off from the Company in October of 2008.
My relationships with my coworkers and supervisors was excellent and never shaky, but this man, for no reason just hated me. Me and another co-worker had seen him on multiple occasions parked out in front of our homes...spying on us apparently. It was very creepy and I do have witnesses.
When I began my underwriting work for Advantage, Tom promised me a $1,500 bonus every three months. Whenever that three month mark would hit, he would meet with me and say that I "was reported for sexual harassment". For the record, I talked to no one at work with the exception of two male co-workers who were also my friends.
I knew it wasn't true so I asked him if I could challenge my accuser and he said that he could not allow it. (I knew by law that I had the right to confront my accuser). Tom did this and other similar things to allow himself to go back on his word.
I was a 24 year old man and I used to hide in my cubicle and dry my tears after being completely humiliated and viciously attacked verbally by him. The worst part was that I didn't have the money to file suit against him. I am still mentally scarred by the things he did to me.
For anyone working at Scibal, do NOT trust the following people no matter what:
1. Thomas M. Basil, Jr. - EVP and co-owner
2. David Scibal - CEO and owner
3. Reynolds Dodds - CFO
4. Paige Patrizzio - HR Manager
These four people, once they set their sights on you, will stop at nothing to destroy you mentally, professionally and spiritually.

In addition to all of the other dysfunctional factors of the company, there is also the following to take into consideration...it explains it all!
1. The owners ex-wife is the HR Manager
2. The owners ex-sister-in-law is the COO
3. The owners adopted and inexperienced son is the Director of Sales nationwide
The only other people you usually see getting accolades and MAJOR promotions in that company are either family members or close friends of the Scibal or Basil families.
