This person royally ripped me off.  Several facts about the vehicle were hidden from me and deceptive information was displayed in the ad.  Example: The car has A/C.  Yes it did, in a Box!  The
original car was never equipped for A/C, instead, the A/C came from a salvage yard and it was incomplete and the head unit still does not work properly.  Cost to fix - $600!

The engine was working well at the time but when I did a tune-up and oil change, the oil looked like it was black tar!  The spark plugs were also shot with one of the plugs completely covered in deposits, causing a massive misfire.  Even the oil plug was a bogus plug jammed into the hole.  The car was not getting the mpg it should.  After the oil change, there were massive amounts of smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe.  All of this indicated that the valve seals were shot and perhaps
even the rings were bad.  I did a compression test and yeah, bad seals and possible rings.

I tore down the engine, taking off the head and it was so gunked-up in the combustion chamber and valves that it needed to be rebuilt.  I examined the pistons and they were covered with carbon
deposits, taking them out, the cylinder walls of 2 were very scored with scratches and the rings were totally shot on 1 piston.  Cost to fix - $1200.  This rebuild was done to perfection and stock specs.

Even after all this, I am not able to drive because when I pulled the tranny access plate off, I discovered the remnants of the clutch disc!  The jerk-wad told me that it was a new clutch!  New clutch plate, disc, TO bearing and flywheel package ordered.  Cost to fix - $350.  **** update, Well the problem was not the clutch, in fact all of it looked new except the flywheel..  the jerk that put everything back together did not torque down the flywheel bolt causing everything to wobble inside the transmission housing!!  The thing could have exploded..  GREAT!!

When I get done, I should have a much better than stock VX with higher performance and mpg.  But I expected a car that I paid almost $4K for to have working AC and a decent engine.

Not expecting this jerk to do anything, just putting the word out so he cant screw anyone else.

WHO ARE YOU?  The monitor for RIPOFF REPORTS?  Or did you google your name and find this stuff about YOU?

If it is YOU, everything I stated here is factual and you sure pulled one over on me, enjoy the money because in the condition that you sold me the car, it was NOT worth the money.

If this is not YOU, then you are a MORON that can't read and comprehend, so I will point out YOUR errors.

How well did the A/C work during the test drive?
The person advertised the car had A/C, the A/C was in a BOX, so how can you possibly test that?? All the pieces were there but I still had to install myself.

How could a vehicle that misfires check ok?
Can you read at all?  I drove the car for 2 miles at 40MPH and it was okay, a slug, but okay.

I'm surprised that someone with your level of experience in engine maintenance would purchase a vehicle with black oil and bad spark plugs.
We all drive cars with the oil going to black, that fact alone does not indicate anything accept that the car needs an oil change.  However, when you change the oil, and then it gets black after driving for only 100-200 miles and is a quart low, then THAT indicates there is a problem.  This problem existed LONG before my purchasing it.  He was putting oil in that thing every week and therefore KNEW there was a problem!!!!

If the seller knew about the problems AND claimed there were no problems then it is a rip off. How can you be sure the seller knew about the problems that you failed to catch?
That's more than a ripoff bud, the word is FRAUD.

Shall I type real slow, so you can understand?

  1. A/C not INSTALLED IN CAR, it was in a box.

  2. Engine needed an oil pan the size of a gas tank for all the OIL it went through in a week.

  3. Scott tells me that he had the clutch done, read the report again for everything I said about the sloppy workmanship on the clutch, the person who did the work did not torque down the bolts to the proper specs and the teeth on the flywheel began to separate from the rest of the flywheel, which would have made a nice little explosion of parts, had I not caught it.

I'm surprised that someone with your level of experience in engine maintenance would purchase a vehicle with black oil and bad spark plugs. You missed the problems so maybe they did too.
