July 30, 2012 I went to Sears to get new tires put on my Chevy HHR SS.  This car requires 18" high performance tires.  I was the only one in the waiting room and waited 3 hours for them to put the tires on my car.  I kept seeing the guy from the front desk going back to the lift where my car was and then returning to the front desk.  I couldn't understand what was taking so long.  In the mean time I'm thinking about my dog who has been home alone since 4:30 am when I left for work and now its going on 4pm and I still don't have my tires.  Finally they bring my car out and I question the guy at the desk about why it took so long and he just apologized and said he didn't know and the $82.09 I was charged for Roadside Hazard which I never requested and wanted it off my bill.  He argued with me that he told me about the Roadside Hazard when I brought the car in which he did but he implied it was included with the tire purchase.  It still hasn't been removed from my bill.  I immediately leave to tend to my dog and when I get home I notice my rims are all messed up.  A couple of them look like someone used a can opener to take them off.  I immediately called Sears and spoke to the manager who told me to bring the car back.  So, I make the 25 mile trip back, she agreed to the damage, wrote it up, took pictures and filed a claim for me.  She was apologetic and very helpful.  After 2 weeks she told me she was waiting for her manager to return on Tuesday and she would get back to me.  I had been playing phone tag with their insurance company, Sedgwick for weeks who I would rate just as poor as Sears when it comes to customer service.  I call the shop again and speak to the other manager who states that the manager who was handling my case is no longer employed there and that he and others reviewed the pictures she took and that it is curb damage on my rims, no fault of theirs.  So, my guess is that they fired this manager who admitted guilt and provided good customer service which I feel terrible about and will not honor my claim so now I have no choice but to take them to court.  I have spent so much of my own time with this issue over the last few weeks and its really disappointing that a company as large as Sears would have such shady people and practices.  I would not recommend anyone going there and I will never do business with them again.  $900 tire bill and over $1200 in rim damage.  Sickening!
