Complaint Review: Sears Auto Center - Williamsville New York

I say consumer beware. This Sears auto center does nothing but prey on woman and young girls who know noting about cars. I write this as a consumer beware, to avoid using this auto center for your repairs.

My daughter went in there to have her car inspected. Then was told it would cost over $500 for her car to pass. She text me and I told her not to let them do anything, and that I was on my way. She told them I was coming and they could explain repairs to me.

I got there within an half an hour, only to find out the machanic had started on her car, and it was close to being done. I asked to speak with the machanic, but this guy came out with a part in his hand. I asked him what it was and was told the left front wheel bearing.

Now this made me wonder and made me know they were ripping off my daughter. The reason I knew that was this wheel bearing was just replaced less than 10 months earlier. Again I ask for the machanic who finally came out. I informed him that wheel bearing was not bad and just replaced. All he could do was a lie and lie again.

I then noticed on the invoice where it said that both rear brake drums needed replacing. I asked him about this, and was told her rear drums were badly out of round. So I took it further. I said if the drums were so out of round, why was the rear brake shoes not replaced. His answer was, there was nothing wrong with the shoes.

On the inspection reciept it shows all four tires were removed to inspect brakes, and rear drums were removed and replaced. Also said nothing was wrong with rear brakes. He passed the car at the cost of over $500. He also said a new air cleaner was installed.

Now here it was approx. 10 days later and my daughter's car is making a lot of noise in the back. So I took it to the shop where I get my car fixed. Within 5 minutes I am called into the shop. They had the rear tires off and the drums.

Both rear brake cylinders were leaking brake fluid, all the rear shoes were covered in brake fluid and no longer good, and all the shoes were scraped up from them out of round drums Sears replaced. I was told by my shop that these cylinder had been leaking for several weeks. Oh and them new drums Sears put on,,,,they were now burnt from the shoes being uneven.

It would now cost me another $571 to have her car repaired correctly. I tried calling Sears auto and spoke with the manager. Being polite I was basically told to blank myself. So I knew I had to take this to the next level. I got NYS DMV safety office involved.

After the inspector was done, I was told that this Sears was hit with voilations for failing to correctly inspect my daughter's car. However, after reporting this to the BBB theylied through their teeth and the BBB closed my complaint.

However, what they don't know is I am waiting for statements from the machanic and manager from my shop stating that these parts were bad, and that the car should not have passed. Thus showing the machanic at Sears was out to rip my daughter off. Also in doing so missed two major things in an auto inspection.

As soon as I have this I plan on suing Sears for the original cost from Sears, the cost from my shop, and also adding on for damages for putting my daughter's life in danger. Here is the best of all of this!!!! The inspector from the state showed me and my wife a work order saying my daughter signed it for repairs

The signature on the work order does not even match my daughter's signature. My daughter had to send the state a copy of her license showing her signature. This is another thing I am waiting for is the state to send me a statement it is not her signature. I will also add forgery to it. So I am asking that all young girls and woman beware of this auto center
