I recently purchsed some lawn edging equipment at Sears in Anderson, SC. On checkout, they offerd me 20% off and a $15 gift if I would sign up for a Sears Gold Master Card. Reluctantly I did, not intending to use the card or activate it. The purchase came to $69.00 and the first bill came and June and was due July 10. My wife postmarked the payment on or before July 10. WE recieved a new bill in july thanking us for the payment a 5telling us we owed a $39.00 late fee and a $1.00 interest charge! Can you beleve a $40.00 late fee on a $69.00 bill?! I sent the payment along with my cut-in-pieces, unactivated Gold Master Card. I've made my last purchase at Sears. Please do not agree to take this Gold Master Card.
