My husband and I had Sears install new siding on our house in May 2013. The siding looked nice and we saw no initial problems, so we signed off on the project. However, shortly after the project was completed, we realized that the installers had put siding over parts of our windows, so they could no longer open. It took weeks to get that fixed. We also noticed that the fascia on the front of the house and garage were wavy. When the contractor looked at it, he told us it was supposed to be that way. I can say with certainty that it is not supposed to be that way. He put in some additional nails. That was the extent of the fix. Thankfully, once we had gutters installed, the messy work didn’t show, but I am still not completely satisfied with the job.

 

Around the same time, pieces of siding started bowing out and coming loose from the side of the garage. It took four phone calls over a period of several weeks to get a call back from Sears to get someone to correct these issues. I found this particularly distressing because our salesperson, Jim Moriarty, specifically told us that this would not happen, because of the locking design of your product.

 

Again, in December 2013, we had pieces of siding coming loose and hanging off of our house. This time on the side opposite the garage. Again after several phone calls to Sears and weeks of playing phone tag, I made an appointment with Kevin for January 2, 2014. January 2nd has come and gone. I still have siding hanging off of my house, nobody showed up for the service call, and I have not even received a phone call to explain or reschedule.

 

I am extremely disappointed in both the quality and the service we received from Sears. I feel like we have been cheated. Sears has neither lived up to their contract nor their reputation. We still cannot contact anyone there. We are now looking into any legal action we may be able to take. I do nt want to do this,but we feel like we are back into a corner in this matter.Please me and my wife would love to talk to a member of sears about this issue. This is the first of many reports I am going to post on the internet until we are able to sit down with a member of thrir"team"!

 ok so I had a gary haase come out to my home in january to look at the siding in which  he did say that the siding was not nailed properly and he would come back out to repair it in march when the weather broke. well we are at april 18 and nothing ! no contact or anything. So I called to dispute the charges and the sears c.c said we cant dispute the charges. so I called today and they said they will escaliate it! what a joke! how many times can you escaliate a situation? SO I told them I do not want a sears team mate on my property. At this point all I want is what is lefton my c.c statement and I will hire my own contractor to repair the siding. I don't think sears has any contractors that can do quality work. I talked to in the 38 minutes I was on the phone today to debra who asked jackie and then transferred me to alex in which they couldn't get a hold of anyone at the field office? So they told me to send out some emails to these people. ummm no!!!!! I want this resolved now!!!!!!!!!

So I did receive a request for my contact information from a sears social media person. I supplied the information right away. I did receive a call from what I would assume was sears... just a 5 digit number came up on my caller I.d.. then I received a e mail from the same person saying I had been issued a case number and that they tried to call me but was unsuccessful . Well when I tried to answer it hung up right away. Well the email said they would try again the next day. Well I did receive a call again from the same 5 digit number and sure enough right when I picked up the call it hung up right away! I sent out a email less than a minute after the 2nd call. Saying it hung up on me to try to call me from a land line and not though what I assume is a computer. Well seats I am anxiously awaiting another call. We did get someone out to fix the siding that was hanging off the house for 2 months.... they came when we weren't even home! I wanted to discuss a few other spoilers with them! So I did recieve a response fromt he social media person named Sarah, Once I started talking to her we have started to get return calls finally from the home improvement field team.So far Sarah has been the only person not to lie to ius. She has kept her word. She calls me now to follow up every monday and thursday. She doesn't miss a beat. So We finally got the manager of the fiels team? NAmed gary Hauss. I asked him to do a walk around of my home without me to see if he noticed the poor workmanship. so he went around the house by himself and sure enough he came to my door and made the statement" yes the siding is definently installed worng". He stated to me that it seems where the siding has buckled that the underlayment is not nailed properly.So we agree'd on him sending a crew to fix the spots this coming march since we have quite a bit of snow here in  michigan and I didn't want anyone to be in harm's way on a slippery roof.I asked Gary if he was going to check the whole house, not just the spots that were buckled and he said they would probably be fine. I protested, because if thery didn't nail the underlayment properly in one spot the whole house is probably not nailed correctly. I told him the reason we went with sears is becuase the salesman said they have a  better locking system with their siding. Then that is when Gary, the manager blew my mind! He stated that"well yes but you folks bought the lower line of siding".NO WE DIDN'T!

we purchased the middle of the line product. sear's has a good, better and best. We purchased the better. When I said that then gary the manager started back peddleing saying well I will have to look into it. I did tell sarah the media relation's lady, and she said that is very troubling and would look into it.

This just keeps getting better and better.

I will keep this updated on this thursday when I hear back from sarah. So far she is the only person from sear's that we can trust to tell us the truth and to believe.
