Are you saying that you have an extended warranty for this T.V., and that this warranty covers the T.V. for 7+ years? I'm asking because the longest extended warranty I have ever seen is for 5 years total.

Yes you may be right it may be time for a new tv but what is the reason for the warranty...... if you bought a scooter (somthing small to keep the price compare the same) and you new scooter was under warranty for 6yrs and jus befor the warranty is up the head light goes out. Do you jus trash your scooter or do you take advantage of the warranty that you paid money for, and if the warranty is more head ack than what it is worth than why get it in the first place. That is why i ask is it realy worth it. Jus this past saterday a rep from sears call to ask me how my service went, I explain that my tv is still broke. he said "I'm sorry to hear that". he talked to me like he realy wanted to help. He gave me three different numbers to call, told me that i should crack the wip and stand my ground....Wow is this someone from sears that might be on my side...... NO WAY!!!! jus wanted to pass me off to someone else. The three numbers that i called all ended in " IM SORRY TO HEAR THAT". So dont be sucked in by the garantee that sears warranty will cover any problem you may have.... My sears protection agreement only got sears to pat me on the back and say "SORRY TO HEAR THAT"

6 years, Dude! Time for a new set! Now you can go Sony 42" direct view HDMI LCD high definition TV for $2K. Sometimes it just doesn't pay to be so frugal. A direct view LCD would be very reliable and give a finer picture than a projection set, but the screen is not as large. This is a quantity versus quality issue. OPPOdigital offers a fantastic upconverting DVD player for $240 with which you can view your standard DVD's at 1080p HD.
