First off I just want to start this report by saying im a 24 year old male who realizes how crappy our economy and societies are becoming, and when im being lied to! So my Ripoff Report begins by letting you all know that I STILL work for Securitas Security Services Inc. out of Bangor Maine.

My problem all started because I worked at a Site that paid 11.00 Dollars an hour for sitting in my car litterally doing a patrol around a fenced in aread probably an acre in size. I was then transferred to a site at an office building that had employed Securitas to guard the fenced in area, they just didn't need anyone there anymore because the upgrades they were doing to the site were finished.

about half a week later i got a call from the supervisor at the office building who also works for Securitas. He offered me a job for 40 hours a week paying 9.25 i said i cant take any less then 10.00 an hour with the bills that i have. i eventually took the job at the office building but only because i was promised 10.00 an hour. well i worked here for about a month at 11.00 and hour and was then told they need to pay me less because they can't afford to pay me 11.00 an hour. I told them i wouldnt take anything less then 10.00 an hour so my boss tells me i need to call the HR person in Bangor Maine which is where my branch is based out of, i do this and the HR person tells me he'll get in touch with the Branch manager and come up with a figure that they can pay me at this site. he also told me he'd have to call me back on a friday and it was a tuesday at the time because the Branch manager was away. i said this is fine.

well i go into work on tuesday and told my boss that i have talked to the HR person (which i was told to talk to) and he said yea he just talked to him and that they came up with 9.50 an hour and that they said they both talked to me and i said it was fine (which i didn't) i told My boss that i didnt talk to the branch manager and that someone was lying to him. well he got pretty upset because i told him i dont like being lied to. he then challenged me by saying "do you want me to call The HR Manager?" and i said firmly Go right ahead I can look you Dead in the eyes and tell you the honest truth that i did NOT accept that payment agreement. he then hesitated a little bit and said okay. i found his hesitation to be a little out of the ordinary so the second i was done talking with my boss i went to the computer went to Securitasepay.com and looked at my pay stub only to find out that they had changed my pay to 9.50 without my permission or signature a week PRIOR to being told to talk with the HR manager.

my concern with this company lies solely on the dishonesty and lack or proffesionalism when it comes to Coorporate positions covering themselves and paying as little as possible to employees making a bigger profit on the end side. eventually i got the district managers number and gave him a call he was quite friendly and more than willing to fix the problem at hand, we eventually agreed on 10.00 an hour with compensation for the week i lost my pay to 9.50 from 11.00 an hour. they are paying me at 11.00 an hour for another whole month before taking it down to 10.00 an hour after that.

after talking to the district manager i got a visit about half an hour later from the BRANCH manager to change my pay. while we were discussing his frustration with me because i went over his head to get what i am entitled to he had the audacity to try and sneak in the idea that employees arent allowed to talk about thier pay or discuss it at all with other employees. me being a stubborn guy that i am i stood up for myself and asked him if he could show me anywhere on paper in a contract or anything that says were not allowed to discuss it. he then shut his evil little mouth and muttered no. and i said EXACTLY. he then had nothing to say to me at all. the Maine state law for discussing wages is as follows and i QUOTE: "Employers may not discriminate against an employee for inquiring about, disclosing, comparing or otherwise discussing the employee's wages with others." i then proceeded to print this law out and post it right in front of where my bosses sit and made sure i highlited it with bright pink highlighter.

if there is any lesson in this ripoff report it is that you have a voice, please PLEASE do not be afraid of using it to it's fullest extent, your not the only one with issues in this company and together people really DO make a difference, and to prove it, im just letting you all know i did ALL of this on my own, as an individual, imagine what everyone could accomplish if we all worked together!!! thank you for taking time to read my report!! if you have questions or would like to see the papers i signed to agree to wages please respond to this post!

Unless you are under a contract that guarantees you certain wages or says that you must approve any change in wages in writing, it doesn't matter if they "get your permission" or not to change your rate.  Because Maine is an "At-Will" state they could fire you for basically any reason that doesn't violate anti-discrimination laws..and not accepting a pay cut is not discrimination.

Not only that you complaint is that they wanted to pay you between $9.25-9.50/hr and you wanted a minimum of $10/hr.  But for several weeks you were getting paid $11/hr.  Let's see the last time I checked 11 > 10.  Not only that you only went to $9.50/hr for only 1 week and they are compensating you with paying you $11/hr for another month.

Yet after what looks like them bending over backwards...you STILL write a RipOff report on them.  Well you say you still work there, you better hope that they don't find out and fire your a** for doing something this stupid.  Of course if they do perhaps you might find some way to sue them and then never have to work another day in your life..ummm not a bad plan if this is what you are thinking.
