I purchased a Biannual Time Share with Sedona Pines on April 30, 2012 by paying them Aprox 7500 USD down payment This was a odd year membership starting June 1, 2013.
The use year of my property commenced only in June 2013, Quote: Para 9 of Agreement states “the members are to reimburse the club on cost sharing basis their proportionate share of Vacation Points issued by the club as determined annually by the club. Unquote.
The word reimburse normally would mean that I should be paying at the end of my use year. So firstly i am not clear why i am paying maintainance fee before the start of my membership. Also the agreement states that Sedona pines must notify the member with an invoice detailing the due amount.
In my case Sedona Pines made an error on their part by incorrectly addressing my invoice to the wrong country inspite of me giving them the correct address. Thus their notifications never reached me. They repeated their mistake on all their subsiquent notifications and did not use any alternate means (email or phone) for contacting me.
Now Sedona are not acknowledging the error on their part and have handed over the case to a credit collection agency ' 'Continental Credit' who have added the late fee + their own service fee etc and are asking me to pay close to 850 USD where as the original due amount for Maintance fee was 431 USD. I have tried to contest and explain my case but nither party is willing to investigate and are insisting i just pay the dues and accept being penalized due to their error or else the amount will keep increasing based on late payment interest accrued on a daily basis.
Because of continued pressures from the Continental Credit I have paid 431 USD via credit card towards my dues. However i believe that the rest of the late fee charges and Continental Credit charges should be cleared by Sedona Pines.
After continous effors on my part for over a month i have managed to open communication with the Vice President in Sedona Pines 'Kaye Du Van' who agreed to wave of 150 USD as late fee but insists i pay the extra 350 USD (aprox) to continental Credit towards their fee.
I am very dissappoint in sedona pines management. This case went to the credit agency due to their error and hence they must acknowledge their mistake and apologise to me as member for the undue harrasment they have caused and square off the dues with the collection Agency who work for them.
All the above has caused me and my family a lot of inconvenience and harassment for the past couple of months and I sincerely hope someone can assist me in resolving this matter and ensure that Sedona Pines learns a lesson and never repeats such a thing with any other member.
Warning:- Stay away from Sedona Pines Time share. Poor management and zero customerservice. A beautiful resort but stay clear of Time share.
