I have a contract with Service America. I phoned to have them come and fix or replace my leaking hot water tank.
A "repair" person came and told me my stove was glued to my counter top and couldn't be moved. (not true) to get to the water tank. I had to show him'how to remove the diswasher to access the hot water tank. He absolutely didn't know what he was talking about. He informed me that I needed a tankless water heater with additional plumbing and electrical work. He stated he would have Service America get back to me to give e information. (They didn't). As well, he refused to allow me to charge the additional fee of $45.00. He didn't want to phone the office to approve a charge. I prefer charging to keep my records in order. I am a senior person on a fixed income. I expected service rendered and not a lecture about how my water heater isn't accessible etc. I was/am totally dissatisfied and called twice for a refund of my $45.00, as nothing was done to alleviate my problem (which was supposed to be covered under my contract). I phoned twice, I was told a supervisor would get back to me. No one returned my calls. The $45.00 I paid was a rip off. Service was not delivered.
I phoned a plumber and the next day, a new water heater was installed without a problem. I will not renew my contract with Service America. They are not reputable as far as I'm concerned and the repairman they sent didn't know what he was talking about. I want a refund of the $45.00.
Thank you.
