Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Tuesday, June 19th my air conditioner broke and I contacted Service Doctors of Chantilly, who promised to have a technician at my home that same evening. Pleased the company was meeting their promise of same day emergency service, I hung up. The technician arrived as promised and performed the service analysis, with appropriate charges. He also explained that he would need us to shut off the unit and he hoped to be out the next evening, or at latest the morning after that (the 21st) to continue the repairs.

On the 20th I called Service Doctors and was told the technician would be in my home no later than noon the 21st. However, he did not arrive as promised, and by 3:15pm the 21st I had made several calls with a final promise from Service Doctors that "the technician would call me within a half hour." At approximately 4:30pm I received a call from John (Amit) Jain, the President of Service Doctors, telling us Service Doctors would not service our unit, that they did not have technicians who worked in our area, and there would be no charge for the original analysis. Mr. Jain told me "find another company, we won't fix it."

I was floored. I had been on the phone for three days with this company, and as recently as the hour before had been told a technician was on the way. When I pressed him for an explanation for why we weren't told we were outside the service area the first call, he said, "Sorry, find another company." In frustration--we had waited three days at this point only to find out the campany would not service our air conditioner--my wife told Mr. Jain, "You won't in business very long--your service stinks." Mr. Jain responded, "Go to h---!" and hung up the phone.

Service Doctors web site states, "We are therefore dedicated to providing nothing less than the best possible service to our customers." I'm not sure how my experience with Mr. Jain supports this goal.

In the press of the emergency I never checked the references for this company--the Better Business Bureau has rated the company "Unsatisfactory" for failing to respond to a variety of complaints. I find it incredible that a company whose president uses expletives in speaking to customers and then hangs up on them--all while failing to deliver on his company's and employee's promises--can remain open for business. Here's hoping other prospective customers avoid similar treatment.
