Shakespeare Fishing ripoff Columbia South Carolina
I bought a Shakespeare Ugly Stik fishing rod while on vacation. With the rod came an offer for a free gear bag. I sent in a money order for the shipping costs along with the receipt and offer form.
After waiting the required 8 weeks for for the bag I contacted them asking the status of my bag. I was told they didn't receive my money order. I then did a trace of my money order to get a refund thinking that the postal service had lost the money order. (This cost an additional $5.) I was informed by the postal service that Shakespeare had received and had cashed my money order.
Shakespeare asked that I send them a fax of the postal inquiry. (This cost an additional $2) I asked them if Shakespeare Fishing was going to reimburse me for the cost of the inquiry and the fax since it was their error that precipitated these costs.
Shakespeare advised me that they would not reimburse me since they weren't responsible for what method I used to send in the shipping costs.
