I purchased a brand new Sharp 65" LCD TV, model: LC65SE94U, Ser.No: 8008816397) from www.plasmahouse.com at $4699.00 on December 19, 2008. It was deliverd on December 27, 2009.

I could not turn on the unit at the first attempt of turn on. This was reported to SharpUSA service department on January 02, 2009 as a case no: 4965859.

Sharp's local authorized repair shop tried to repair the faulty unit four times and gave up. The authorized repair shop asked to to contact SharpUSA Support. I asked them what is the next step; Sharp told me they would replace with refurbished unit. I demanended to replace with the brand new unit since I bought it as a new unit.

Sharp Support insisted that my unit was refurbished when it was sold. I called the seller "plasmahouse.com" and found that it was a brand new unit but Sharp may listed as a refurbished since this unit was returned to Sharp as a brand new from the other vendor.

Finally, we received the replacement unit on Februay 25, 2009, and it was a refurbished one. Even this one did not last half day. On 9:00AM, February 26, 2009, this unit could not be turned on by remote controller. I checked other function of the remote controller, and it worked except for the TV. TV's sensor mechanism might be a problem.

I called Dispatch Department of SharpUSA Support and asked to replace my TV with brand new unit not the garbage. A lady named Porsha told me that she would not replace with a new unit but may schedule to send a technician. I refused and asked her to talk with her supervisor (8:15AM). She agreed to talk her superviser to call me back in 30 minutes.

Now almost the end of day in California (3:15AM), I am still waiting for the call from Sharp's supervisor.

I think I had a such hard time with this TV set and tired to talk Sharp people. I even send a letter to their headquarter. Ony thin I need is that to have a peace of mind to have a decent TV which I paid for not the used garbage.
