Ok. I have applied for a mortgage. When the Financer ran my credit, the only thing to come up was Shellco Credit Services Ltd.
I had never heard of them before. So I got my Credit report from Equifax. Sure enought there was a collection reported to them 3 years ago. On the same day a collection was reported to them from another agency. I remember dealing with the other agency. The bill had been payed within a couple months of my initial contact with the other agency. All was good at the time.
Now this may not seem strange, but, both of these claims were for the same bill. With the same Collection Agency referrence number.
I contacted Shellco. What a miserable b**ch. Refuse to talk to me after I told her who the bill was from. Just told me "we only deal with GM, not(bill holder). Call Equifax if you got a problem." Then hung-up on me. Have tried calling back, but keep getting told to "call someone else. It's not my problem." Don't know who this woman is. She refused to give her name.
I contacted the bill holder. They have never delt with Shellco. Contacted the agency that I delt with when I payed the bill. They have never delt with Shellco.
So, where did Shellco get the information from? Why won't they remove themselves from my credit report? Why are they refusing to even talk to me about this?
These are only a few of the questions I have. As it stands right now, I am trying to buy a house. This is the only thing holding it up. It's been over a month. The seller is starting to look else where for a buyer. The house is being bought on a rent to own sort of deal. So if the seller finds another buyer, I will have no down payment for something else. If and when this ever gets cleared up.
Shellco are crooks. I believe they posted the collection in hopes of collecting on the bill themselves. But I payed it off first chance I got.
If you ever get a call from Shellco, don't ignore it. Question it. Push them. Make them prove that you owe the money to them. Because once they get on your credit report, they won't remove it. Even when they say they didn't handle the account. They still won't remove it.
