Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I was an employee of sherman industries for about one year. Recently they have been behind on our pay by sometimes months at a time. On June 20th 2014 they told about 40 of the employees including myself to take off the following week to give them time to collect the money they owe everyone. It's now Thursday June 26th and we were all told we are fired and we are not getting any money. We also got told got to whoever you want including the department of labor you're still not getting any money. The owners of this company commit multiple felonies on a daily basis including tax evasion and out right rob the costumers of deposits. Every one of them belongs in a prison cell for what they do to people. Not caring if there employees are getting evicted or have hungry kids at home they just don't care. And it needs to stop. Companies like this is why unions exist.

After reading your report I took it upon myself to look into this matter. It seems this company has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Just to help educate the public or people involved. This is a reorganization of the company that is controlled by the courts. Companies do this when they get into trouble so that they can make sure their employees, customers, suppliers and vendors get paid. If they can't after a few months save the company then the courts will step in and sell all their assets and return that money to the employees, customers, and vendors. Keep in mind that once a chapter 11 is filed the company is not allowed to write checks, sell equipment, or sell any other assets without the courts permission. In closing this "seems" to be a company that is trying to seek help and do the right thing by everyone involved. Be careful with deformation or libel remarks posted on the internet as they could open you up personally to legal suits without hard proof of your allegations. The company in question has to supply you with the attorney information handeling the filing. This attoney must answer your questions. If I was you I would request the attorney information and start there. I would also remove any libel remarks from the internet and not open up yourself to unnecessary legal problems. Good luck!

Defamation—also called calumnyvilification, or traducement—is the communication of a false statement that harms the reputation of an individualbusinessproductgroupgovernmentreligion, or nation. Most jurisdictions allow legal action to deter various kinds of defamation and retaliate against groundless criticism.

Under common law, to constitute defamation, a claim must generally be false and have been made to someone other than the person defamed.[1] Some common law jurisdictions also distinguish between spoken defamation, called slander, and defamation in other media such as printed words or images, called libel.[2]

False light laws protect against statements which are not technically false but misleading.[3]

In some civil law jurisdictions, defamation is treated as a crime rather than a civil wrong.[4] The United Nations Commission on Human Rights ruled in 2012 that the criminalization of libel violates freedom of expression and is inconsistent with Article 19 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.[5]
